This game def was underrated and felt like a more fun experience then 2K bball games, if u made right basketball ball majority of time u would make it, unlike in 2K where u can be wide open be a lil off on shot meter and brick, if I remember open two pointers were easier to make then 2K and the lay ups n Dunks was fun n easiser, but not too overpowered, cuz good Defense could stop them crazy shots….its a few 2Ks I fucked wit eventually before they made the controls extra hard n never been a fan of mfs green lighting guarded 3s or running side to side to get open and just making every shot wit Curry, If you Knew how to play Basketball and the fundamentals this game was easier to pick up and play compared to 2K where u gotta perfect all the button Combos and even then shit just ain’t as fun as live was imo

i was always a 2k kid, so i never had this game, but my homie did, so whenever i went to his house we played live. for some reason, i had derek fishers shot down so well that i consistently would score 100 points with fisher alone, fuck kobe, it was dfish lol. live shooting was about timing like how 2k is today, except there was no meter and it didnt matter if you was contested or not, as long as you knew the timing, you could green the shot even though greening a shot wasnt a thing yet. fishers shot was so easy for me, and my homie would rage quit even though it was his game lol. then whenever he came over my house, id whoop his ass in 2k too. good times.

Fun fact, several years of average Live games, Mike Wang joined and did Live 10. Live 10 was solid but EA felt the sales dod not improve much(due to consumers being cautious) that EA scrapped whatever plans they had for the next game, and went back to the drawing board. Mike did not like what he saw and immediately gone back to 2k. Then, NBA Elite was released.
