My vote goes to 1987-88 for overall season: the MVP race between MJ, Bird, & Magic; MJ as the first MVP to also win the DPOY; Bird's 3pt contest threepeat; MJ vs 'Nique dunk contest; Bird vs 'Nique Game 7 duel; Isiah Thomas sprained ankle game; Lakers fulfilling Riley's repeat guarantee; etc... Though '92 is likely the best year for basketball in general: The Dream Team, MJ's shrug game, Magic's last ASG, Bird's epic final triple-double, Rodman's 1530 rebounds, Riley's Knicks vs Jackson's Bulls rivalry begins, Laettner's perfect game, etc...

Bird became the first player to be in the 50-40-90 club twice. James Worthy recorded the first ever Game 7 triple-double. John Stockton was finally unleashed from the bench to begin his nine consecutive assists titles along with racing MJ and Alvin Robertson (all-time spg leader) for the steals title. @@otis6791 his signature crossover is kind of like the euro step. If you do it wrong, it's a violation and you probably have no business doing the move. But if you understand the principles of the move and the footwork then you most likely do not commit a violation unless you just flat out make a mistake. It's like that little side gather that Chris Paul does to escape the defense for a deep range shot. All of these moves are valid because they're being done by the best players ever and that's the only explanation needed.

Mj's buzzer beater over russell in game 1 of the finals is more iconic than the dikembe poster in 97. Plus, ai's crossover also happened in the same season. When i think about the 96 season, i always picture mj hugging the ball after winning the championship against the sonics. Not a basketball play i know but iconic.

I think this list had to Nerf Jordan or else there would be too many. 1992 had the shrug and the next year included his famous and 1 to cap a 55 point night in the finals against the suns. Imo both of those were more iconic than the actual plays selected.

There were so many great battles in the 90's with great moments that Jordan's okie doke baseline dunk on Oakley & Ewing didn't even make it. I miss those Eastern battles from that era. Celtics, Cavs & Pistons early.... then Bulls, Pacers, Heat, Magic, Knicks, Hornets, even Hawks, Bullets and the Nets were dangerous when Petrovic was around. No nights off in the East hardly in that era.
