With Shaq's move to LA in 1996, the Lakers became instant title favorites in the West (Utah had the last say, though). To back up the hype, the Lakers played their best games against the visiting Bulls at Great Western Forum in 1997 and 1998, all in blowout fashions. 1997 was more impressive because Shaq didn't play. That's why it was Utah again represented the West, and not the Lakers. The Jazz countered with wits and experience over Lakers' flash and youth. In WCF, it was only g2 Lakers gave Jazz a serious scare. Somewhat discouraged come g3, the Lakers gave least resistance or thinking fishing already.

Yeah as a Bulls fan this was brutal, funny part is that I missed most of this game. I had it recorded on VHS but once I saw the score I recorded over it with the All star game the following week.
