Man it's crazy how good these guys are. I had no idea how much there's physical contact in basketball. I thought I was good as a kid, but I couldnt play with people all over me like that. I disliked the physical contact but loved the grace and finesse.

U.S. basketball always been very physical.....in the 80's and 90's the NBA use to allow hand checking with 1 hand on the dribbler...it was muscle bound men then lol but the impact of the finesse players of overseas and shooters like Steph Curry have brought the league away from the brute ball! So now its smoother to watch and the less fouling speeds up the game for better entertainment value

I played a lot of pickup ball in college and was a pretty good perimeter defender. Wasn't that great of a scorer, but there weren't many games where the guy I was guarding scored more than I did. One day, I played a game of 21 featuring a guy who was on the college team and would later play in some international leagues. He wasn't a whole lot bigger than me, but he nailed one jumper after another with my hand in his face. Wasn't breaking a sweat either. That experience drove home to me how good college players are just on another level skill-wise. And good NBA players are of course on another level still.
