2 things should not be understated. 1) Tim Connolly, who built the Denver Nuggets and drafted Jokic, Murray, and MPJ, is now running the show in Minnesota and was responsible for the Gobert trade. He pretty much built a championship team just turn around and do it again to beat that other team. This is an incredibly incompetent take. The difference between the first seed and the eighth seed is fairly marginal. Rankings barely matter in the west. Highly competitive teams will have lower wins... Think Boston and the East versus the thunder and the West. Denver's a great team and they won the championship point blank period. Coming away from the Knicks loss I left with seeing that the Knicks have something. There’s a core there with Brunson…but more importantly the Knicks are a more desirable destination for players than what it was a season ago & they can build on that

Losing that last regular season game to the Spurs put Denver against bad match ups in LA and the Wolves. Against the Lakers they survived a close series which masked how badly Murray and the bench were. They would have been better against Dallas and Phoenix which aren't so big. Anyway Wolves looking scary. Final against Celtics would be a slug fest

You cant say Wolves coach is a great with the justification of getting ANTMAN to buy into team concept. ANTMAN came in with that mentality. If your argument he is great because of team camaraderie under pressure, YES! But lets not give coaching credit for something they have not done. As a matter of fact, you can argue, the coaching staff allowed Denver to bring it game7 by not controlling momentum in Games 3 & 4. Coach Malone was fully aware of momentum and stopped it as much as he could while Wolves coaching staff looked like they were sleeping on Denver runs.

Man Jokic has it so good lol. He can be in peak LeBron talks, the head of a new dynasty, lose in 2nd round and have the narrative just be "Hey they ran into a good team its hard." Giannis was talked about like Kevin Garnett at best, and caught way more flack losing in 7 to Boston in round 2 without his #2 and Brook Lopez just coming back from back surgery. Shit he got more flack for losing a series he wasnt even able to play in cuz of injury, but they kept trying to push him to LA or New York. Anyway, its going to be very hard for the Knicks to add another star while keeping Divencienzo and Hart. Hartenstein probably leaving in FA, so its going to have to be like 4-5 guys who make up to $40-45mil salary while adding 3-4 FRPs to it
