Fans in Boston have fully known and said these kinds of things about Embiid for years. It's a big reason we are NEVER afraid of the Sixers or him. Ever. We feel justified now--we've been saying it forever; now the rest of the NBA is finally accepting what's been true all along. Embiid didn't just BECOME this way--he has ALWAYS been this way.

Hey Jason, great show as usual 👏🏾. I have a question. What do you think of Tyler Herro’s start to the season, and particularly his recent 5-8 game stretch? Sucks that it was about a couple years late, but it’s almost painful to think that this version of Herro would’ve helped the Heat win a title during these last few years.

Option 3 for the Warriors defence late game...once Steph/Buddy are beaten (forcing the hard help from Dreymond) -> Buddy/Steph leave early peeling to Norman -> Moody still splits two until the peel is complete but can always recover to the corner.

I'm glad you see it similar to me in terms of the warriors over helping off shooters to stop drives. To me, it's felt like that's a go to response from other teams whenever we hit a big three, and it almost always burns us. I would rather concede an attempt at the rim with Draymond Green as the last line of defense than overhelp off a shooter. Cause the math tells you after you make a three, if the other team responds with anything but a made three or and one, you are still profiting one point.
@dusk51212 күн бұрын
I think one of the main reasons the game leans towards speed these days is because these last few years had quite a few players of the derrick rose archetype like ja morant, darius garland, deaaron fox and others so that the league had to adapt to that. In a sense, the top talent that enters the league dictates team construction. Back in the 2000 there were a lot of good power forwards like duncan, garnett and pau gasol the game had to be slower and more centered around size and strength with slower pace.

The thing I noticed about Clippers is that they do not guard the basket, they guard the action. What that means is that they actually make it difficult for perimeter players to relocate along the 3pt line to the next stop, next screen, etc instead of blocking the lane to the basket. And we don't know how to deal with it. And don't get me started on the overhead pass, my goodness.

Mailbag: Melton being out for the season is a tough blow for the Dubs, as he was the perfect offguard to Steph and their only real two-way small perimeter player. What should they do to make up for it? Regarding their frontcourt and secondary production issues - Do you think there's any realistic chance the Heat would part ways with Bam, and if so, could they get him without completely gutting their roster? I think he'd be a much better fit than someone like Giannis, and his contract is more modest too

Warriors fan: I’m grateful to Kerr for the last decade, but I’m also pissed at the way he’s handling our next generation. Why is Lindy Watters getting more playing time than Moody and JK? It feels like two years ago when Tye Jerome and Jeremy Lamb got playing time over Moody and JK. I don’t mean to hate on Waters, I love having him, but I’m more interested in seeing what Moody can do, and the last time JK played crunch time, he won the game in OT against the Rockets!

Mailbag question: If you're the Warriors, what is the antidote to those wide open 3's generated from Harden drives and Warriors double teaming him?
@berserkmonk53312 күн бұрын
Hopefully Jason answers this 😂 My guess would be to contain the ball( contain Harden) without having help from Draymond or having to collapse on Harden or Zubac. But with our roster, this is pretty tough to do.

warriors have done this last few years i notice they double team & over hustle, which can be great but a disciplined team can make just one more pass to find the open man (powell) & open three 5 out of six times. i’d rather have them not leave certain people to double, don’t leave powell & harden, their two top scorers

Hey Jason, mailbag question for you... Thoughts on Luka this season? I don't want to overreact this early in the season but as we've known for a long time not only is Luka a poor defensive player often times he's a downright defensive liability especially with regards to effort or better yet the lack there of. Anyways, my point is in years past he was so ridiculously productive offensively the vast majority of basketball fans (including yourself) have given him slack on the defensive side of the ball. This far into this season his numbers for the most part are down across the board but the particularly alarming thing to me is his scoring. Despite attempting more FGA and only about 0.5 less 3PA than last season he is averaging over 5PPG less. He's also playing nearly identical minutes compared to last season but he is down nearly 2APG & 2RPG. In my opinion in terms of scoring I do think he'll bounce back as we get further into the season but I want to know your take on it. Are you alarmed at all? Also, if his current play is how he plays all season would you still be willing to overlook his atrocious defense for his offensive production?
@greyklopstock71552 күн бұрын
Amidst all the mistakes and bs on Monday night against the clippers, we still win if we just make our free throws. The whole team needs to pull a Don Nelson and lock themselves in the gym shooting free throws until we make them on autopilot

It is weird how Jason keeps defending Luka after this rant. Luka continuously doesn’t give effort defensively and blames his teammates on the floor. Luka learned nothing from last season and despite being generational offensive talent is not helping the Mavericks get to place where they are real contenders
@Ringostarr342 күн бұрын
Fair, but to me there are levels to this, and Embiid has Luka beat in terms of being lazy, unmotivated, and a poor leader by quite a bit.
@nomorepartiezz2 күн бұрын
Luka 100% has issues with conditioning and attitude but it feels disingenuous to compare him to Embiid. Luka has proven himself to be a playoff leader since pretty much day 1. He just took his team to the Finals on one knee at age 25. Luka needs to grow up a bit but Embiid is straight up embarrassing himself as a guy who’s past 30 and has NEVER EVER had a successful season leading a team to a deep playoff run, its literally now or never for Embiid, his window is closing, and he’s still acting like this. Embiid has been a disappointment year in year out for his entire career and has yet to prove that he isn’t a loser or playoff choker while Luka is having a bad month in November. Huge difference

I don’t like Embiid but he deserved an MvP since it’s a regular season award. He’s had regular season stats no one has had since Wilt. Playoffs don’t affect that aren’t even considered in MVP. Now as an overall player nah fuck Embiid he can’t get it done in the playoffs. He has objectively had some of the best regular seasons of all time though.
