a lot of players get complacent and forget that u gotta keep the grind even more but usally they realize that too late

Guys like SGA were hard for me to predict. He came in young with some height but minus some weight and strength. Still developing physically but also still developing motor skills when he was drafted. It was hard to tell whether it is just an age issue or something more but there were times throughout a game that he wasn't able to maintain an explosive move to the basket all the way through the move. He'd lose it physically about 90-95% of the way through the move and land off balance. He didn't have that problem after coming to OKC so it was just an age issue or maybe just my imagination. Then you see teams like Memphis sign Marko Gudurić from overseas a few years ago and watch about 1 minute of his KZbin highlights and realize someone owed someone a favor or lost a poker bet for that move.

SGA definitely developed over the years. It’s always tough projecting these skinny players. I didn’t watch Marko back then but i like Markos game now.

@@antgoods87 with Marko it seemed more of athletically, speed, those type issues at the NBA level. He just seemed to exert a lot of stress to do things that should be easier for a 6'6" NBA type player. There's a player I think plays in Italy now but was in the NBA a couple years - Eric Paschall. He was great to watch because he was a solid built post player but really only about 6'5" at most. So it would be an uphill climb in the NBA. But he had this unique ability to score over taller guys without having to force things. Even going to the basket in the post, scoring over taller guys, no sweat. I thought he had a chance but guess not.

Funny enough, in my sophomore year of high school i was making fun of my best friend because he had a KD(okc) poster on his wall. And i was like “lmfao what happened buddy all you have is Shai gil Alexander now” and he was like hey SGA is cold he’s gonna be something one day. Bro, holy fk was i wrong i neeeever saw SGA being what he is. I mean it’s insane what he became from what he was. I’ve never eaten my words so badly beforeb

It’s a real job and most players never had one before because they were elite amateur players. Then when they have to be a professional it’s not easy for them since they never dealt with a professional environment.
@antgoods87Ай бұрын
That’s a great perspective. It really is a job and there’s so much more to it than just the basketball part

How did you become a basketball scout? I’m doing research on the occupation but I’m not finding very much

What’s the youngest age you are willing to scout? Is there “too young” for the collection of data for feedback purposes on youth athletes ?

Like 2 things can’t coexist. Third season in a row the Lakers have a decided free throw advantage.

Why do you think Jamal Crawford couldn’t stay?
@6SLeGMАй бұрын
He was 39 and already far past the age that most players would be in the NBA regardless of ability

@@6SLeGM -- lol, OP is crazy. The avg career is 6 years. Jamal? played 20 years.
