if I recall correctly, Kyrie talks about moving around a lot when he grew up. so he basically was able to play and practice against the best kids in every city he lived in, probably lots of different styles he went up against

Luka averages more points shooting better from the field. Also has more 1st team all nba all nba and all star appearances. His only argument for Trae is that he plays more "fancy"

3:25 Outside of an All Star Game where the point is to put on a show, this happens rarely. To make this a regular occurrence you would need 3 veteran offensive specialists who can consistently run a fastbreak playing against a completely offense minded team that cannot form a defense. No team can afford the player salaries to run this, the league salary caps would not allow it (prevents the big name teams from hording the best players), and even with the best conditioning this team is gassed by half-time with no bench players that can pick up the slack.

Luka has had Kyrie… for like 3 weeks, Dinwiddie and Finney-Smith… who are gone for Kyrie, Tim Hardaway, and Christian Wood. His best teammates ever include Porzingis who always got hurt but he is very good, and Brunson before breaking out. Oh and how could I forget Harrison Barnes

The man-to-man defense here has not been well, very stellar, to say the least. With some exceptions they are watching the ball when they should be watching the mid-section and positioning their bodies with reference to that--sliding their feet, as we were all trained to do as kids. Who cares how many between the legs fast dribbles they do, or shake and bake moves--as long as you are looking at the right part of their body and your body is positioned accordingly (and again , sliding with them!). When you do this, these kinds of moves are almost pointless when you are playing correct--man-to-man defense. Piss-poor defense (as my coaches used to say) in a lot of these clips (not to mention that these guys regularly carry the ball). Pure street ball never beats team ball--but it can be integrated into team ball as needed, not when it is only for hotdogging.

I honestly think the Trae Young / Luka Doncic trade will be a rare even trade in the history books. Trae truly fits our city in Atlanta and I personally think his gravity here would’ve been more than Luka in a Hawks Jersey. Luka joining Dallas is major because of the recent success Dallas has had with international players (particularly Steve Nash and Dirk). A lot of people don’t give Trae Young his flowers although he has led the league in Points and Assists in a season. He also led ATL to the Eastern Conference Championship round (Semi-Final for NBA) just like Luka did in the West a year or so later. Their careers will always be parallel because of that draft day trade in 2018.

I can't watch Kyrie clips. The man is, to paraphrase Charles Barkley "an Idiot". As I grow older I find it harder and harder to separate the on court stuff with the off court stuff. The nonsense that comes out of his mouth (I mean the man was/is a flat earther...) is truly amazing. Add his penchant for verbal diarrhea, with the fact he's an awful teammate who bails on his team/teammates at the drop of a hat... yeah, no thanks. He's been a toxic presence on every team he's been on. Kryie is one of those people who thinks they're the smartest person in every room, and yet everyone else in the room agrees he's the dumbest.
