The Bradley Beal trade shows how having 2-3 high quality role players is better than having 1 max contract low tier star Also, you can’t have your 3 stars all do the same thing. This is the mistake KD makes over and over and over again. Way too much redundancy between KD, Booker and Beal. Who is the playmaker? Who is the defensive monster?

No the apron is punishing good teams. You shouldn’t draft a bunch of good players then be unable to keep them all in a few years. Behind the teams that just get stuck and can’t make trades. The home grown teams are afraid to do anything now because 3 good players and you’re into the apron

Riley really blew this whole Butler situation... Once you decide you not paying him you got to trade him. He isn't going to pay nice and hope for a contact from the guy that let Wade walk in the same situation. If the gm last name wasn't Riley we would be taking about the heat being in basketball purgatory and they need to blow it up. They won over 45 games once since Jimmy been there. Everyone been waiting for Riley to work his magic and get a 2nd star, he has missed out on kd harden and Kyrie twice, Dame and kwahi in the last few years. At some point we need to ask if the game has passed Riley by.
@scarletspider124010 күн бұрын
Butler has been a perennial malcontent his entire career…Riley is crude in his dealings but he’s an executive, it’s his job. You can’t reward Butlers behavior and his antics by giving him what he wants and allowing him to dictate how, when, and where he goes. Rewarding bad behavior just incentivizes more of it…just like with children…which is what Butler is….a petulant adolescent child stuck in a 35 year old man’s body.

So basically what I’m hearing is that the new rules are forcing teams to actually do their job and put good TEAMS together instead of just relying on overpaying specific players to come to your team. When you can’t just easily on a whim trade away players you don’t want anymore and / or trade FOR players that you do want…its makes you actually make better decisions for the organization and think ahead more than 2’ in front of your face.
@zacharybarker99919 күн бұрын
Not exactly. It's more like teams don't have to have competent leadership anymore in order to retain talent, because it's so much harder for talent to leave. Cheap Donald Sterling selling the Clippers to an owner that was willing to spend catapulted a TERRIBLE franchise into relevancy. This new CBA puts the brakes on that, and rewards mediocre owners.
