Its simple. They're missing shots. If they're even shooting close to what they did last season or at least league average, we have blowout of the mavs, warriors, magic, etc. Its a make or miss league. Simple as that. Are there other things they can improve on? For sure. But the key for them is they simply need to make shots close like they've shown they can. Its a jump shooting team. They are at the mercy of shot variance.

The same thing that’s been going on for like 6 years with this team. The core guys love to play unserious, frustratingly inconsistent basketball. Last year, the talent was just so insane that they got away with it but Horford and Holiday are aging + JB has had an extra weird season and often seems like he’s super disengaged mentally. As a Celtics fan, I hope it gets better but I’m fully prepared for the ups and downs to continue

Honestly can’t blame Ryen, the NBA is just so damn stale and utterly predictable unfortunately. There is just not enough interesting storylines to talk about so that’s why the media just recycles the same talking points and conversations over and over again. For the past two years it has essentially been nothing but glazing the Celtics and Thunder. (How good are they?! Am I right??) And then talk about who is the Lakers or Warriors need to trade for to give their vets one last title push. 😑🔫 The fact that more people are more interested in the upcoming drafts/prospects/tanking teams..or endlessly speculating about different trades/and or focused on accumulating draft picks--is a pretty damning indictment of the current NBA product. Also this nonsense of constantly doing these arbitrary “All-Time Player Rankings” and arguing about where you would put current players and shit like that--has completely replaced any actual analysis of the current season or recent games. Seems like that’s the only NBA content you can find on ESPN or KZbin. Pretty strong indicator that there are just way too many damn games in the regular season, and it’s not interesting because half the teams are trying to lose because of the bizarre incentives the league has. And the “good” teams are almost forced to all play the exact same way (a team with four 3 point shooters and one big to protect the rim). Imagine how bleak it would be if we didn’t have the Kenny Atkinson Cavs or the Jokic Nuggets who have refused to conform to the standard and are still excelling anyway? It’s cool to see the EuroLeague thriving-it seems like the structure they have is so superior and creates a much more dynamic and competitive format-and much more fan intrigue and general interest. You play in your domestic league (France, Spain, etc) while also playing EuroLeague games. But both are round robins so you only play each team twice. That makes every game so important and the stakes are high. And then FIBA rules allow defenses to be super aggressive and space is at such a premium that just jacking up 3s isn’t a viable game plan. Not sure what the best course is for the NBA but feel like a radical shake up of some of the rules or even the format would be a great start and generate a lot more interest than the league in its current state could hope to get. Also do Adam Silver, the owners, and the Players Association even have the balls to change anything? Or are they content to just sit there and watch things decline?

They just gotta stop shooting difficult threes and get to the rim more often instead. A fade away 3 w 18 seconds on a shotclock will never be a good quality shot and they take too much of shots like that.

Maybe you can lighten up on the Orlando offense sucking so hard when you forgot to mention that they also lost Jalen suggs. This team has lost their top three players in is finally getting one of them back but he needs time to get adjusted and it wasn't like they had a good offense with all of those guys playing. Just based on talent and my belief in the Orlando coaching staff and system I think they're going to be just fine when they get everybody back and healthy. If they get everybody back and healthy.😊

The Celtics are the prime example of 3pt shooting going too far. When we talk about the product of basketball, theres a lot of things left to be desired, including access to gsmes themselves. But the 3pt shooting is undeniably an issue. We live in the most skilled era ever, yet the skill is greatly diminished by teams refusing NOT to settle for 3pt shots any chance they can get. I will tune into any random game, and witness a team drive and kick for a 3, the 3 will klink off the rim, the offense will get the long rebound and immediately step-back or kick out for another 3, only to klink again, and the defense will get the board and do the exact same thing at the other end. The Celtics are the most extreme example of this. Id love to see their shot chart, because literally more than half their shots are from 3. Its an awful brand of basketball, its a copy cat league so every team is trying to do it, its making non-shooters jack up 3s, and its destroying the product. We are watching "live or die by the 3" in real time.

Boston is soft and plays soft. Their “enforcer” is literally 38 year old Al Horford. They’re so good it may not matter but the fact porzingis is only looking to draw a foul in the post on a 6’4 dude is ridiculous. Brown and Tatum are turnover machines if they aren’t 100% locked in.

Kerr created tensions among the Celtic players by playing White and Holiday and screwing with Tatum and Brown. As teammates White, Holiday and Tatum should have walked off the Olympic team to show support for Brown. Now, there is no trust among these players.
