actually...you're right, he did travel, but it WAS in the act of shooting. when he was in the act of traveling, he traveled cause he was squaring up for the shot and that "supposedly" counts as the act of shooting. Oh and i think the ref didnt call the travel cause he was checking the guy jumping at him rather than paul pierce's feet. im probably wrong but thats just my opinion.

Incredible shot by Pierce and it wasn't traveling cause he pivoted (he kept his pivot foot, he didnt lift it to step into the contact) into the that flying laker which caused the contact and was able to get a shot off and BANG! 4 point play in the making. BEAT LA!!

If his left foot was his pivot foot, then he lifted it and that's a travel. If you want to say he didnt have possesion until his right foot came down, then his right foot could be called his pivot foot. And he moves the right foot basically just as he gets hit, its hard to tell if he got hit before that. - But i think it was BEFORE he got hit, and so then it was still a travel. So its a travel both ways.

if you were watching the game on ABC, there was one play where Pau clearly blocked KG all ball, but ronny touched his arm after the block, and he was called for a foul. there was also a play where pau threw a ball back from halfcourt, but videos showed it was clearly not a backcourt violation. now, the refs dont catch paul pierce sneaking 4-5 steps to create the contact. i know lakers are crybabies sometimes and i have respect for boston, but 3 calls against LA in the finals is pretty whaack

Lakers need to get one in Beantown. This series could go 7. I think the Lakers must bounce back and get the next one. If they take one in Boston it will put them in charge and they have been tough(as most playoff teams this year)at home in the playoffs. Still,I am a Laker fan but Boston is NO JOKE people. I think they have more talent overall than the Lakers but with Kobe...who know. As a Laker fan I worry that Sam Cassell can really be a factor off the bench. Just great series for the NBA!

He did travel, look at his feet. He steps to the side w/out dribbling to get the contact. Also it wasn't in the act of shooting either. Pierce gets hit, and then started his shot after he got hit. It was the late whistle which made it seem like it was in the act of shooting. This whole game was reffed horribly in the Celtics favor though. Celtics fans, prepare for an asswhooping on Sunday.

Actually Pierce got the best of Lebron, not only did he won the series and eliminate him but he had a better overall series too.. remember Queen james shot like 18% from the field in the first 2 games.. while having more turnovers that all the celtics... really pathetic. Paul walked. @ :10 he lifts his left foot once he has the ball(thus making the right one his pivot) then after the pump fake he steps over with his right foot(pivot) and shots the ball... The play should've been called dead for a traveling violation.... REAL BASKETBALL... once you have a pivot foot, your pivot foot must stay the same until the ball is either bounced or shot.

Well First off i'll admit to the Lakers fans that Pierce isnt as explosive as Kobe can be, but Pierce is one of the best in the league at getting to the rim and getting points when he needs to. Also Gasol can't play D on Garnett, and the only chance u have to slow Pierce down is if Kobe is on him the whole game because Radmanovic is slow. Celtics in 6!!!!

Thats not a travel... he has his right foot established as the pivot foot ( He moves his left a few times but does not pickup his pivot foot) then when contact is drawn, he takes a step back. You are allowed to take 2 steps anywhere on the court then shoot, so i dont see how he traveled.

its hard to see. So its fine if they didnt call it. But watch it again. His RIGHT foot was his pivot foot. He moves the left foot as he leans to the left - that is perfectly fine. BUT then, just before he shoots, he drags his right foot (his pivot foot) to the left also - and that is the travel.
