I said way back when their coach designed a really good offense BUT I don’t think Mitchell is the engine of the offense….. it’s Mobley. They can run sets out of the high post because of his midrange and scoring threat. Those DHOs at the elbow to the guards are more effective than most of the leagues and it obviously helps to have two all star guards. Coach has also done a good job of having one of Mobley, Spida or DG on the court at all times. I’ve seen Mobley have like 2 points and completely take over third quarters. My point is that to be a championship team Mobley will have to continue to develop into a superstar/all star type big. Playing with two scoring guards his numbers don’t have to be huge but he has to be a threat in every scoring aspect as a big. If he gets stronger and fills out his frame I can honestly see them winning one.

The NBA and ESPN make themselves look stupid every time they finally mention the Cavs. This has been an amazing showcase of team basketball, fantastic chemistry, LOADS of talent and great coaching coming together. I know Donovan is the chosen marketing tool for them but at least try to pretend you watch basketball before pretending that Donovan Mitchell alone is carrying the Cavs. This is a nice highlight reel for Donovan but you could make a similar reel for more than a half dozen Cavs this year. The Cavs literally couldn’t win without Lebron James when he was in Cleveland. The Cavs system works with and without Mitchell in the lineup. Watch the games.
