This right here needs to be pointed out. Thank you. Wayyy Too early to say hes officially got the elite shot making abilities, but the past 3 games hes been shooting 54% from 3, averaging 6 threes made in this stretch. And this is after his criticism was he needs to stop shooting, like why should he just limit himself from being unstoppable? A consistent jumpshot opens up the floor for everyone and easier shots will come for the team and himself. I remember in Curry's scouting report before he got drafted, his shot selection was listed as his weakness. And its the same exact shots that made him who Curry is today, and changed the entire game. We gotta be grateful these critics aren't his coaches, they wouldve limit tf outta his potential

Pop's plan for developing Wemby has been genius. Limited minutes, but total freedom with shot selection & an emphasis on developing guard skills. In a few years when he fills out his frame and develops more of a post-up game, he'll be even scarier than he is now. A 7-foot guard with the ability to take the ball up and pull up from anywhere. True unicorn. Incredible.

@@zerobuckets Exactly, we all know wemby is one of the best lob threats in the league, dont we. And the spurs aren't in win now mode anyway. Instead of rushing his development, so they can be a play in team, why not tank so they can get cooper flag. And while doing that, let wemby become a 7ft 4 klay thompson, so when they run pick and roll/pop, its either a easy dunk, a easy three, wemby attacking a smaller player trying to close out on him, or an insane mismatch. Wemby should shoot as many got-damn 3s as he can. He's basically unguardable shooting the 3 ball. Bigs can't keep up with the step back, and guards and wings don't have a chance in hell of disrupting a shot with a release point half way to the rafters. He could easily be a 40%+ high volume 3pt shooter, and if anything it would be better for his game in the long run to shoot a lot of 3s, as it would put less wear and tear on his body allowing him to play longer.

He would not be considered the GOAT if he were American, and he is not the greatest player we've ever witnessed. Not yet. What are you expecting the American media to do anyway? He's already getting a ton of praise from American basketball media, but if you're not a basketball fan then you wouldn't know about him because basketball media rarely bleeds into general mainstream media. If you never watch basketball then the only player you might've heard of in the last 10 years is LeBron. I swear Europeans love to whine about America's supposed neglect of international stars when really they're getting the recognition they deserve. They just don't live in America and probably assume we all know who every major player is even if we don't watch basketball.

2:00 is why I think Wemby will be a cheat code once he fully develops his game. The handle, quickness, balance, and footwork on full display against what appeared to be good defense on that play.

I got to start back watching Spurs games. I don't follow the NBA closely like I used to when I was a freshman in college and I first started watching and will watch almost every game even when it was between sorry teams. Now I mostly just watch Laker games because of LeBron James and Anthony Davis but I promised myself once LeBron James retires Victor Wembanyama is going to be my new favorite player. I watched a few Spurs games last season and I immediately started liking Wembanyama because he has the offense of skills and crazy defensive skills. I'm hoping that in a year or two they can get him some help and the Spurs can get back to being relevant like they were with Tim Duncan.

Victor Wembanyama becomes the fourth youngest player in league history to record 50+ points in a game, only Brandon Jennings, LeBron James, and Devin Booker were younger. Victor Wembanyama becomes the first player in Spurs franchise history to record 50+ points and 5+ 3PM in a game. Victor Wembanyama becomes the 8th player in Spurs franchise history with 50+ points in a game. Wemby’s first 50 ball with more to come soon🔥🔥🔥

You'd like to see him in the paint a bit more than he is but the development of his 3pt game is critical. It will open up the rest of his game if defenses get out to contest more often. Also having CP3 helps in this regard.

Stop the noobs with his size and the excuse of his size to explain his level! If only size mattered, there would be many pro players at the same incredible level as Wemby... It's especially that he has incredible flexibility, incredible speed and incredible skill for a player of his size, it's the addition never seen before of all his qualities in a single player that make the difference and that make Wemby. And in addition of course, he is very intelligent, he has a great intelligence of game and he knows how to learn very quickly! Wemby has everything to be at the end of his career The GOAT of the entire history of Bakestball until him quite simply. To be continued...

I love the fact that he hears the criticisms and goes out to prove people wrong. They told him he can't shoot so he shoots more LOL plus whose blocking him? 🤔 His skill set is actually insane and he's only in his second year. He has so much more polishing he can do to his game. He's legit and he's starting to see it.
