"Why did you do this", is a damn good Question. This is a classic example of an unqualified police officer setting the stage to shoot an unarmed civilian. It is so important to screen these people for phycological problems before they kill somebody for petty reasons. This is attempted murder because deadly force is the last resort and not a tool to stop a fleeing driver. "I feared for my life, so I killed first", really, when he could have simply backed away from a moving vehicle and arrest her at home. Ordinary citizens are not allowed to step in front of a moving car or stick a hand through a window that is closing, as an excuse to shoot unarmed drivers, so why do cops get away with this? Her family now has to live with the knowledge that a rookie with a badge and an unstable personality almost took her life needlessly. That woman clearly doesn't know what a donut is or how to do one, so she was justified in being argumentative. Just because a citizen argues with the police doesn't always mean they are wrong or a criminal. You are allowed to challenge an officer when he is breaking the law by falsely accusing someone of committing a crime. People are disrespecting the police lately because they are often the real criminals in a traffic stop. The line between serving the public and victimizing the public is crossed every day and there is not enough accountability. The sad truth is that if the situation were reversed, she would not be allowed to use the same argument, "I feared for my life", so I killed first" and would suffer the consequences. This officer may never face any charges because the system is rigged to favor the police in almost every criminal investigation, just look at the statistics. That steady erosion of trust is where we are today and why you are seeing so many examples of people fleeing the police. You can't force respect; it has to be earned. This criminal behavior by the police will not end until we stop strapping guns and badges to idiots and turning them loose on society. We need educated/well trained police officers to replace these dangerous cops or nothing will change. If the cops received a complaint about her car they had probable cause to stop her and investigate. During a lawful detention you are required to identify yourself to the cops and obey their lawful orders. You are not allowed to flee the scene in your car when you are being detained. That all being said, the cops are not allowed to shoot you when you drive away unless they can justify that their lives or someone else’s was in immediate danger. I’m not sure the citizen knew her rights anymore than the cops knew theirs in this incident

Rolling up a window and driving off does not warrant a shooting... this to me is an abuse of misplaced authority. At no time did the woman make a violent threat toward the officer. It can be argued that her unwillingness to cooperate was subject to an arrest, but again, the situation did not rise to the level of an officer being justified in shooting the woman. This is becoming far too common, and a reason why I've been saying, we need Nation Wide Reform in law enforcement in the 'use of force' cases. Again, these officers are absolutely in the wrong. This is not to say that the woman is innocent of some charges, but her actions alone did not warrant this level of force.
