Thank you for sharing your story. I was diagnosed with metastatic breast cancer at 36 and I’m currently fully responding to treatment. I NEEDED to hear it’s possible to live and that I could possibly see my young children drive, first heart break, maybe get married and all those wonderful and not so wonderful life moments. I SO badly want to live and be here for them. You’ve given me hope and you’re right.. nobody knows.

I was diagnosed with MBC in 2020, and I avoided support groups because I came into this with depression already, and I felt like I had nothing positive to offer at the time. It's been a few years, and things have gotten a lot better, but I don't want to feel obligated if I join something. I don't always feel like participating, but I also think a group might have some good resources I'd be more interested in after living with this for more time.

What you did was completely okay - do whatever feels best to you. When you are ready to join a Support Group (with no pressure to continue returning, but just to see what it's like), we have a group that will welcome you with open arms. Please let us know what else you did to survive: any diet changes for example?

Thank you for your comment! While there isn't a one-size-fits-all diet for patients, survivors, and thrivers, we do have several resources dedicated to nutrition and healthy recipes. These free eBooks can be found on our website here: www.nationalbreastcancer.org/resources/nutrition-care-ebook/
