Work. Work is the answer. In Czechia we have had terrible floods in 1997 and 2002, and so much work was done since then - plans, flood maps, communication systems, stockpiles of barriers, retention in countryside, levees along rivers, very goid prediction models... And now even though there was much more water here tgan by then, the damages were a fraction. Everyone seened to know what to do, from local mayors and volunteer fire brigades to ministers. Work!

This is why Biden's Infrastructure Bill was necessary. America's deteriorating infrastructure was creating similar situations on a regular basis. Republicans, on the other hand, prioritised local tax cutting and dividends over maintenance.

not true. Deteriorating infrastructure wasn't the issue. Creating jobs is why the infrastructure bill was created. Also, the rich pay for roads that commerce travels on. That's why the roads are named after them in those states. Infrastructure is priority just like border protection. But instead the liberals are interested in funding foreigners to undermine US voters. "We build bridges and not walls".........now Kamala Harris says "don't come." Hypocrites, all of you.

This may sound cruel but when you build in a Flood Zone at some point you can probably expect to get flooded.

In general I agree with you, but many flooded areas are not classic flood zones here. The area received multiple months' worth of rain in 2-3 day which has not happened before.

that is not common flood zone. in Galati it was the heaviest rain in 100 years

At 0:37 a woman is saying that she had to move out because she was in a flood zone. Behind her is a building which is not flooded because it was built on ground a few feet above the river.
