You can see that poor kids posture and body language he wasnt a threat, he never pointed the gun at the cop. He had his hand left hand out in almost as if hes trying to calm who was pounding on his door, with his left arm down with the gun pointed down.

And what I am saying is exactly what I would have done. Do your due diligence and ask for identification before opening the door! As you can clearly see and hear the officer is Caucasian as am I. Observe clearly, as the victim open the door he was shot up. There is no form of any formality handling a so call domestic follow up.

Correct me if I'm wrong, the guy has every right to have a gun in his hand. The guy wasn't pointing it at the officer, plus you don't need to shoot him 6 times to de-escalate the situation. I mean, why did the officer have his own weapon drawn in a domestic violence courtesy call? If he had to pull his gun from his holster, then how did he not notice that the guy wasn't attempting to shoot him during the period of drawing his own gun?

So fun fact about me, I’ve been in two self-defense shooting’s, and in both occasions, well obviously I was armed, but both suspects pointed the weapons at me. Did you hear that? I said pointed weapons at me. We could’ve talked all day long if they would’ve kept those guns pointed at the ground, like the gentleman did at the door.

I remember staying overnight years ago at a motel in Lakeville,Mn and the next morning I had answered a knock on the door when I opened it I had several policeman aiming a gun to my face ordering me to let them check the room because a bank near by was robbed😒I never felt so scared and violated by the police for doing nothing unlawful at all.

She did not address the young man's non treating posture. Carmen, you should have mentioned the fact that the officer went to the wrong apartment and there was no noise coming from the apartment. It's his house. How come he can't answer his door with a gun in the climate today? I do. You never know who is at the door. did the airman look to see who was at the door before He answered it. He has no idea who it is. People claim to be police. All the time. Any US citizen has the right to answer their door with a gun It is the officer's responsibility to make sure they're at the right place. And to make sure there is a crime before assuming A citizen with a gun is a threat. Otherwise, they can shoot anyone carrying a gun. Think about that. Would like to see more of the video. Though op didn't look like he was pointing it at the officer just answered the door with it if he was meaning to do harm, he would have answered it with it pointed out the door.

"Drop the weapon" when you are 2-3 feet away from someone holding a weapon??? In a situation like that, you do not have time to play. Its either him or me. You do not open your door with a gun in your hand when there is an armed sherrif standing outside. This just defies common sense!!! I am a 12 year female Air Force Veteran. And what I am saying is exactly what I would have done. Do your due diligence and ask for identification before opening the door! And before you open that door, knowing there is an armed sherrif standing outside, put the gun away!! It was also reported the gun the victim had was illegally obtained! What a fricking mess!! I believe the sherrif is African-American too, which is why the race card isn't being played.

"He had a gun!", and he obviously didn't intend to harm the deputy or he would have! He could have shot through the door, or opened while firing. Inside his own home, murdered. Facetime dreaming about the future with his girlfriend, murdered. Serving his country, murdered.
