Very stupid. All for ratings, all for pretending to look like a "tough", "risk-taking" reporter 🙄 People were warned to LEAVE the area but these "reporters" thought "oh lets go there and show everyone what a hurricane looks like".

That's why its so stupid to broadcast in the middle of high winds when it can be done in a much safer environment. No need to show a "reporter" struggling to broadcast in the center of a hurricane. We are not all children who adore recklessness in news.

@@manmin517 yes but a battlefield is different, you have some degree of control and maybe even someone escorting you, but how are you going to protect yourself from nature? Like, are they in a place or some thing that can protect them from the high winds? Are they somewhere that will protect them from the water rising up to 15 feet and winds at 160 mph? That’s the question.

Unfortunately to me much of the footage doesn’t really capture the deep water coming in from the shore and also the damage to homes from flood water. I thought there was much better footage with Helene. Especially in NC area. But appreciate the reporters efforts regardless.

Guy down our street was walking in water like that, and Transformer blew and it shocked him real bad. I think that he died, maybe, because he's not moving and people afraid to go get him.

NBC overhyping the weather. I live there and it wasn’t that bad I went for a walk in the worst part of the storm. maybe 60 mph gusts and some minor tidal flooding in the typical areas. The media is so funny. 😂😂 I think they do this for acting for ratings.

Why do network news channels risk their staff’s lives for these live shots? Why not contract with a few storm chasers to get them their live shots? Personally, I feel that I get better news and images from Reed Timmer. The networks could just contract with someone like Reed and not risk their own crews’ lives. 1:43 Anyhow, if you read my comments, I highly recommend Reed Timmer.
