What is happening to low income families and how poorer people are being treated by this administration is tragic. AMERICANS deserve better then the options and opportunities they are being given. What Vance didn't touch upon, and what all economists and media keep getting wrong, is that when it comes to tariffs placed on incoming goods, Trump is only putting them on products which we already make domestically. So if the foreign company raises prices to pay for the tariffs, they price themselves out of the market and the domestic product gets purchased instead, keeping American money here. If the foreign company doesn't raise prices, they go under. So in order to keep a business in their country solvent, the foreign country subsidizes the tariff for that company, which allows their prices to stay competitive. This forces the foreign country to pay the US money. This is how the wall on the Mexican border was paid for, BY MEXICO.

In regards to the taiffs she asked him about consumer prices and his reply was that inflation was at around 2%. But these aren't the same. Trumps tarrifs did in fact raise consumer prices (because like Vance himself aknowledges you then have to pay more in labour cost, which costs buissnesses more and is passed on to us) but it didn't necessarily have to increase inflation because many other factors influence inflation to

There's not much a company can do other than pass those costs on to the consumer. Taxes however, as you say, can be managed through clever accounting. how is it a "trap" to ask him to explain how their signature economic policy isn't what it obviously is? A universal tariff will absolutely worsen inflation. Vance eventually admits "wages will go up eventually [to match rising prices]" -that's inflation. Wanna bet wages don't go up?

@@ChrisAlfanoPHL It's not a trap to ask about policy. Be honest though, she had arrived at all her conclusions before the interview even started and this was just an attempt at vilifying JD Vance. You can see her desperation and her emotionally vested in everything stated. Far from an impartial interview and an extreme departure from the kid glove treatment Tim would get.
