DO NOT DO CPR ON A SOFA. You will just bounce the person up and down; you will not actually be pumping their heart. PUT THE PERSON ON THE FLOOR

It’s hard to watch this especially being in EMS with all the inaccuracies. 1.) abandoning the patient in the hallway. 2.) CPR on the sofa? That won’t even do anything for the patient to help.

They've never been all that accurate, even in Med. The firefighting is generally not horrendous but as soon as they try to focus purely on a medical call they almost always make a really simple mistake.
@madaraaradam77994 жыл бұрын
Just interested-but what if there really is another patient in need of immediate help, and he/ she needs two pairs of hands? I work in the medical industry too, so I'm not a complete stranger to what it means to obey rules and laws in our job, but there are situations...
@joshuadoll90004 жыл бұрын
@@madaraaradam7799 It's extremely situational. Depends on how critical the patients are, you'd want to prioritize in a similar way as a mass casualty situation. Generally though you'd have one person on each patient if they had roughly the same chance of survival. Obviously if one was hurt but not in a life threatening way you could prioritize the patient who was more critical. Usually when it comes to first aid it's about keeping the heart beating and oxygen flowing and you only need one person to accomplish that, though more is always helpful. You'd just keep them alive until more help arrived then start delegating more hands to individual patients. I am not a paramedic but I'm a volunteer firefighter and based on my medical training that's how I would handle the situation. Could be different protocol based on specific departments too.

1:55 CPR on the Sofa?! Are you serious? A Medic should know that a Victim must be on a hard surface for CPR !
@PastryChick4 жыл бұрын
CematrixX technically they need to be on a flag surface. How soft or hard the surface as isn’t as important. If it did then the medics would have taken my father off of the bed before performing CPR on him, God test his soul.

I think that the main point of this show is to bring a new appreciation to firefighters and paramedics. And yes side objectives should include accurate portrayals of scenarios and roles with real life but it is still great that they have this show. My country does not have this kind of show. It did have an action-drama that is supposed to bring appreciation to police officers but the show was pure action/romantic comedy/obscenity not to mention that the portrayals of actual police operations were inaccurate. Shows sometimes need to bend some accuracies for the cameras. That or maybe they're just lazy. Anyway, my point here is appreciate more the fact that at least this show exists to bring appreciation to firefighters and paramedics.

It’s like watching Teen wolf or The Vampire Diaries and saying the wolf or vampire transformations are inaccurate like the hell they’re not real werewolves or vampires. Same principles apply to all shows. ITS JUST A SHOW 🚶♀️🚶♀️
