I was thinking the same thing. Plus, what other equipment that Gorsch ordered that could have put the lives of Chicago Firefighters in jeopardy. Like Kelly Severide said in the episode when Gorsch got fired from CFD, because he had cut corners on fire fighting gear and equipment and received a kickback from his high school buddy ("A Chicago Welcome," Season 8). "You don't go cheap on fire equipment."

Even though Casey's my favourite character, he was really acting like a jerk towards Mouch the whole episode. I get that he got scared on the ladder, but he did't care to apologise enough for his behaviour afterwards. Go Herrmann!

Exactly, he was all caught up with his situation with Brett that his feelings clouds his judgement during the calls and when dealing with work related issues....I just wish the whole kiss they shared never happened, it made majority of the scenes so awkward

Mouch was at the controls and if the turntable went rogue so to speak, the operator aka Mouch would be held responsible. Not to mention Casey was hanging off the aerial and could've fell so atleast he did apologize.

Hermann is an amazing friend. However, I find it amazing that Casey nearly fell to his death and he's the bad guy in this story for a lot of ppl. Not getting it. He could have suspended Mouch, he could have filed a complaint, he could have been a proper Captain who, as far as he knows, had someone on his team who nearly caused a death to what seems a careless inattention, but he covered for Mouch, like he's done since S1 for every one of his ppl, and suddenly he's the bad guy for being a captain. Seriously can't grasp that notion.
