I can't believe Natalie Esquire wants Caitlin to openly speak about a traumatic experience and throw shade at her by saying "but we know that she picks and chooses when she speaks on things". What has reporting come to? NBC Do Better

Caitlin Clark doesn't have to speak about anything. She took it to the authorities as she should and that's a GREAT example for women looking up to her. That's what you're supposed to do

For the WNBA to move forward, there should be a major media shakeup. women’s basketball should be covered by people who really know the sport and can talk basketball. These reporters can’t even do a 10min stretch a basketball coverage or convo without injecting drama and non basketball related issues. I would bet that these people can’t do a 5 minute convo of meaningful straight up basketball

This is so wrong for commentator to say that she wishes Caitlin would publicly speak about this stalker. If anyone talks about their stalker then they are giving them time in the press and their name and face... the creep then feels like a star. The police need to handle it. Caitlin has been stalked by people since she was in college and she has had to have security. She has had stalkers that hate her and say she looks like a man... have even made up lies about ger and say she is a man. She has had stalkers that are obsessed with her and want to insert themselves into her life. Caitlin never complains publicly about the horrible things that I remember reading their comments when she was in college. She is handling it like the police have advised. This commentator should not be saying that she thinks Caitlin should be publicly speaking out. The victim is not the one to try to solve this social problem. People within our legal system and politicians and the WNBA itself needs to be the ones helping solve these problems.

The stalker who targeted Paige Bueckers was given a suspended sentence and 3 years probation. In other words, he didn't serve any time and is back on the street. Paige must be feeling an immense amount of stress over this. I'm sure Caitlin won't feel safe until her stalker is sentenced to time behind bars.

She is not fired yet. She made racist remarks against Caitlin and continues with her life with no repercussions. If it was a white person her whole life and career would be ruined. So why are black people getting a free pass to be racist?

Thank you for your rational commentary about this. I'm very disappointed that neither the WNBA nor the WNBPA has made any sort of statement about this. They were quite sanctimonious about Internet trolls, but are silent on a stalker.

I think it’s important to understand that the union called out what they saw as a mishandling of a situation. The league acted accordingly here, so it’s not surprising that a statement wasn’t issued. The union doesn’t go around issuing a statement on everything.

@@natfluential the union should be calling out the league for their silence on this dangerous situation

@@JE-ICthat’s not what the union does. The league acted swiftly in this situation. The union calls oht things when the league’s silence or inaction results in something harmful. That’s not what’s happening here.

@@natfluentialSo internet troll is more important than a memeber of the league getting stalk which could have caused her harm? So you are saying they can’t make a statement to show her some comfort? 🧐🧐 Hmmm your comment is very suspect.. z

guess Caitlin was a victim in this. funny thing is no one cared about what Caitlin was going through this year it was just her presence in the wnba what everyone had to endure because if her. hope everyone realizes that online stuff sometimes isnt people trolling it can he more than that. hope jemele hill speaks on hoping Caitlin is okay and not make this a race issue

Thank you for covering this issue. I hope the W takes a more proactive role in ensuring the safety of players. I would have wanted it addressed whether the police will get involved when the stalker limits the interaction to DMs and doesn't drive to the house, as with Carter.

I very much appreciate the comments thst I have read on this video. I will say this - THANK YOU NBC Sports for broaching this topic. Secondly I PRAY that this will cause you two and everyone else in the WNBA to twice about harshly criticizing CC because of her race and expecting to be an activist for YOUR causes. The safety of all 156 of thr women on the league is very importsnt - and neither the league officials, or players or fans or MEDIA should so create a hostile environment that emboldens psychos like Michael Lewis to potentially harm any player. And let's extend the SAME GRACE to Clark thst we would want to receive. The fact thst she had security for years should have been a major clue to the media.

Thank you for covering this important topic! I don't think a lot of people realize how serious a stalking issue can be. It can affect anyone - you don't have to be famous. But being famous and the reach of the internet can make it a thousand times worse. I just hope that all women's sports leagues do everything in their power to keep their players safe!

Oh, they gave their subtle digs. Start listening at around 11:30. And the reason Miss Thing had to shut down her DM’s is because she aligned herself with an unhinged bigot. “White bread, anyone”. I see you two.

Having stalkers is impossible to feel safe especially, when this giy obviously does not care about doing what the judge is telling him to do right there in court.

Caitlin Clark has a bodyguard name steve with the fever and he protects her at every game. Also her sponsor Hy-Vee pays for her security. Also my opinion is since Caitlin Clark and Taylor Swift are friends maybe Taylor Swift will pay for her security when she goes anywhere that would be awesome now there will be no camera's showing Caitlin at any revenue for safety issues. I hope she is safe now. I sm so sorry that she is going through this. I have 2 daughters 23 and 18 .
