Has been for a while. Pole Vault, unlike the sprints though, is a progression. The athlete has to get it right, raise the bar, repeat. When the High School Record Book says "Non-Duplantis Performances," you know he was/is dominant.

It’s ok, he doesn’t really speak it well either. Born and raised in Cajun country - Lafayette, Louisiana, and stayed in Louisiana for college, went to LSU. But his mom is Swedish.

The American teachers at his school told his mother to stop teaching him Swedish, cause they thought it effected his ability to speak English, so even though he have spent time in Sweden his whole life, he didn't start to learn it until later in life.
