Love sat behind a great QB for multiple seasons before starting, same as Rogers before him. Maybe GB actually knows how to develop a QB better than most of the league? Maybe getting a kid from college and having him start on day 1 isn’t the best approach?

As a Packers fan I watched the game and it was really a strange gameplan by OC Luke Getsy. Bears got the ball first and went right down the field but only got a FG out of it. OL gave up 5 sacks. Bears WRs didn’t get much separation vs man coverage but had success vs zone. 11/16 but no pass attempts in the 3rd quarter when they should’ve been throwing the ball to get back in the game. Bears didn’t run the ball effectively even tho they were the #1 rushing team in the league. OL was down 2 starters and Defense played soft zone coverage all game and Packers WRs were running wide open without Jaylon Johnson. Drafting another QB does nothing to fix the other problems they have.

I’m sure Jordan Love feels blessed to have been able to learn from Aaron Rodgers just as Aaron Rodgers was blessed to learn from Bret Favre. As a Chicagoan and long suffering Bears fan I ask who the hell has Justin fields gotten to learn from? Where is his blessing? Some flawed thinking analysts are trying to write Fields off after three years. They seem not to realize that Jordan is just getting started in his 4th year. -These people seem to think that if the Bears keep drafting quarterbacks in the first round they will eventually strike gold. They don’t seem to realize that the problem is not the quarterback, it’s the rest of the Bears-the organization, coaching and rest of the team. -At least a dozen quarterbacks around the league are having outstanding seasons. Most of them were not #1 draft picks and most have been around longer than three years. But does anyone think they would be doing as well quarterbacking the Bears? The answer is “hell no!” -Let’s name some of them: Josh Allen, Jaylon Hurts, Dak Prescott, Lamar Jackson, Joe Burrow, Jared Goff, Joe Flacco, Brock Purdy, Matthew Stafford, Pat Mahomes. Now ask this question again. If any of these quarterbacks were here in Chicago they would be getting dumped on and blamed for everything like Fields -The Bears seem intent on drafting quarterbacks in the first round but all they do is f-- them up as players. Other teams have learned it takes more than a first round pick to have a good quarterback and that it takes years for most quarterbacks to develop. Most are not like Pat Mahomes so why is he always mentioned here in Chicago. What about Matthew Stafford who is in his 8th year?

I agree, but remember Jordan Love came out early and is only 25 yrs. old now. He was way too young and not ready for the NFL game speed or how to really read a defense. I only believe if you draft a young QB, the most important development plan you need to have is a Offensive coordinator and QB coach. The teams that get this right make a strong commitment to doing this the right way. Chicago has a very good QB in Fields, but he is not surrounded by a very good program to bring out his best. Forget about a coach Harbaugh or Belichek, go after the Houston OC who brought along CJ Stroud and made that offense dynamic. I am a Packer fan, but from the outside looking in at the Bears it just looks way off right now. Drafting another young QB and not getting his coaches right will only give you the same results. I see the Bears as very close to breaking through and will pass by the Vikings easily next year and compete at the same level as the Lions and challenge the Pack. Just get the coaches right and get another 2-3 receivers and OL help. This team would break through. Don't blow it all up out of anger. Your GM has to get this right now. Good luck to you guys, your future is brighter than it looks today.

Alex Brown needs to wake up. This game was not lost because one team wants it more than the other. They lost because GB has better skill players than the Bears, period, point blank! Their O-line was better, their D-line was better, their WRs were better and their RB was better. Fields was able to carve them up when they were in zone. However the Bears had no answer when they switched to man. They did a superb job of boxing Fields in, allowing him little time to throw and no where to go with the ball. The answer is clear. We just need Marvin Harrison Jr, a left tackle, and a center. Fields is a beast, but he only has one receiver, and a fairly okay tight end. The man needs weapons! Replacing him is foolish. His deep ball is AMAZING. And we could see it more if he wasn't having to run for his life on every snap, while nobody is open because we only have Moore (who is having coverage shifted to him) and Kmet. Nobody else can get open to save their life. Give the man a second receiver option (who comes from stud lineage, btw), Kmet, and more than a half-second of protection, and these Bears will start putting up 35.

Poles tore the entire team down. We were 3 4th quarter blown leads from walking into the playoffs. We add more talent 4 starters and a bunch of solid role players like we did last year, we’ll have talent and depth. This is their first year together and they’re almost all very young. Bears will make the playoffs next year if we keep Fields and stay the course. Packers played better and they deserved the win. Good luck in the playoffs.

(Another Packers fan... yes, a bunch of us are finding our way here for the schadenfreude, but even if it's been one-sided lately, it's a rivalry... whattyagonnado) The team is definitely coming together at the right time, there's no doubt about that. If the team that we saw in the last two weeks shows up? It might be too much to say that the sky is the limit, but crazy things have happened. We've won a Super Bowl as the last wild card before (although that team was unquestionably better than this one). That said... I dunno, we had a great couple of weeks between Thanksgiving in Detroit and at home against the Chiefs and then followed that up with a loss to the Giants, a pretty bad lass to Tampa, and barely holding on against the lowly Panthers. We sure seem like we've solved the issues we had going on then, but we could get shellacked by Dallas next week and I wouldn't be surprised. Call me guilty of sandbagging, or being satisfied with a playoff appearance when this team clearly has higher aspirations every year... but I'm not expecting anything more than being satisfied at how the team looks in the coming years.

I've been a Bears fan since I was 8 years old. I'm 46 now. I'm done trying to figure it out. From what I can see. Eberflus is not good enough to be a coach to turn around this organization. Getsy is a spy and sabotage. The Packers QB coach...wow that's who they hired!? Fields... Beat up and beat down how could he ever recover from the losses vs wins in this organization? They all need to go. Even I need to go. And I'm gone. Before I go though. Fire the coaches and let Fields go somewhere else! Bring in Caleb and dynamic coaches from the nation not the NFL😢

Alex , doesn't what you want with the QB start with coaching , Justin is running a play that Getsy is calling , why is that on Justin , if it wasn't designed to succeed , it isn't going to . The first 3 sacks on the Bears today were with Justin in the pocket , he never tried getting out and use his legs , he didn't have to sit in the pocket , so why did he ?

I feel bad for Justin as you see the effect of good coaching on QB when you look at the Texans, Green Bay etc.. Bears need an offensive guru who can actually coach! You won't get a offensive guru like Baltimore's OC Todd Monken (see his work with Lamar Jackson) or Jim Harbaugh unless you offer the head coach position. Otherwise, you can expect the Bears offense to underperform next year no matter who the QB is.

You have the right quarterback if he is worth the same draft picks as the first overall pick. There is speculation that this first pick is worth 3 first round picks. Justin will NEVER be worth 3 first round picks. For that reason alone, they need to draft a new quarterback.

24:10 the guy who was in the room took Mitch Tribusky because he liked his vibe. He didn't like how Patrick was at dinner, then tried to walk it back. We were stuck with Cutler because we traded a lot for him, and honestly you make that trade every time. Second, the OC's who understand dynamic talent are the ones who get promotions. Dual Threat QBs aren't seen as the top of the top in the NFL. The coaches that see them as the very best like Andy Reid, make great QBs. Coaches that see talent, Like Mike McDaniel understands that you need more talent to play with really talented players. Lamar Jackson got a legit WR in Zay Flowers. They gave a good coach. This isn't rocket science guys. You've got to get everything else right before you're all in on a QB. Justin Herbert is literally an example of getting the QB right, but everything else is wrong. You have to build a franchise with quality from every level. Getting the QB right is a good size portion of the puzzle, but it's not the whole puzzle. So far the GM is right. The roster has talent. Outside of that. Big question marks. QB should be addressed when the HC and staff are elite.

Alex Brown is too critical of Justin Fields. He is not the only problem. The Offensive line isn't pass protecting. Getting another QB1 isn't going resolve the QB1 issues. They all go through growing pains. Lack of NFL experience hurts any team and them moving forward. Even if the Bears draft a QB1 it's not guaranteed that he will work out. We need more play makers on the Offensive line and Defense.
