Has anyone seen a team that looks like they can win the World Series one day and an embarrassment to baseball the next? This pattern since the middle of the season is so bizarre. It's amazing they even have a bye. I'm not confident at all that they can win a playoff series, either. Throwing it away with both hands. Have listened to Rob say they have so much talent during this funk is maddening, he has to know it takes more than that.

1. Another wasted Wheeler start where if they score a few runs they prolly lock up the #1 seed overall!!! They better win tomorrow to avoid being swept and tieing w/ the Yanks who own the tiebreaker not to mention going into the playoffs being swept!!! 2. Ranger Suarez issue is so alarming bc the #4 pitcher is VITAL in the NLCS & WS and we cannot afford a T. Walker'esque performance from Ranger in a game 4 situation!!! 3. These last two games are a microcosm of the last two playoff series losses which has their offense just go ice cold all of a sudden which is quite alarming bc that shows MAJOR inconsistency!!! I mean if I had to bet. sad to say, I would bet this trend will occur once again vs not at some point in the upcoming playoffs and they will lose that series!!! TBH, I felt more confident last year when the team was a wild card vs this year...

I've followed this team all year and they're not close to being the team that started the season. At best they're a mediocre team that can't hit and have only 3 reliable starters, No way are they gonna make it to the world series. Harper had a solid year, not a great one. His output will probably begin to sink down next year and go into noticeable decline. Too bad, but this team peaked way to early.

Compare that to the Dodgers the past 34 games who have scored 5+ runs in a game 20x The Phillies have overpaid hackers, not hitters. Combined with age, this team has regressed offensively… even if they have 90+ wins, a bye, and an East title.

Where is the offense ? Again, too many swinging at the 1st pitch, regardless of where it is. Too many chasing low & away sliders out of the strike zone. And double digit strikeouts are still a big problem

Harper is a very good player. But it's a giant leap from very good to superstar. Who else has been voted "most over-rated" by his peers twice? I love my Phillies, but the Philadelphia sports media just keeps over-inflating his ego and he believes it. Being called "The Chosen One" by Sports Illustrated when he was a teenager was the worst thing that ever happened to him...because he believed it.

Their biggest issue is totally collapsing in big games where they aren't even competitive. Last year's NLDS, no-hit in 2022 WS, mid-season slump, giving up home field advantage due to recent Marlins, Mets and Nats series, etc. It's a leadership and mental thing, whether it's players, coaches, managers.

Zach Wheeler was on the mound so of course the Phillies bats aren't going to do much. This has been the story through out this season. Wheeler's wins and stats would have been so much better and there wouldn't have been any question that he deserved the Cy Young. The last Mets game when Wheeler was pitching and the offense did nothing to help him, pretty much ended his chance of getting the Cy Young this year. There is no way it would go to Chris Sale if Wheeler got that win which also gave the Phillies the division title. Anyway, by everything we're seeing this post season will be over soon for the Phillies. Then it's up to Dombrowski to start dropping the hammer, whether anyone likes it or not. This team needs a major shake on the mound and at the plate. They can't go into the 2025 season with the core of what they have now. It's stale, unmotivated and the end results will be worse than this year.

These guys are not going to change their batting strategy, but here's a good one: 1. Don't swing at the first pitch no matter where it is. 2. Don't swing at any pitch until you see a strike. 3. After one strike, don't swing unless its "YOUR" pitch. 4. With two strikes, choke up, move up in the box, shrink the strike zone, shorten your swing, and do all you can to put the ball play

The Phils handed the 1 seed to the Dodgers, they got what they deserved. They'll stumble into the playoffs, good chance they'll lose in the NLDS, and that'll be that. Which then brings up the question. 3 straight seasons with progressively worse ending results. Last time we saw this, it ended with a decade-long playoff drought. Does something major need to be done? Might the World Series loss be the peak of this iteration of the Phillies?
