the description of the hoof being bound up and curled up reminds me of a human example of something similar - Chinese foot binding. I wonder how much chronic pain is caused these horses as the binding does to humans. No wonder theses horses with contracted heels are lame.

Even the foot he shows at 425 is way under run... The heel should be taken back and the frog opened up!

I agree, the hoof marked LF looks to me that the heels are too high and too forward! I'd appreciate an answer.
