Add a cross bar to the jack handle so you can control the jack valve more accurately when lowering the mast. Optional: Add four anchor points to the carriage frame for guy ropes and that thing will not come down without a hurricane passing through.

I love this design. Done right you will never have a problem. Two main things I like about this setup. One: No tower climbing. Two: If high winds are about all you need to do is lower the antenna(s). It also makes servicing the rotor and antenna a breeze. Nice work Riley. Dad gets to film while you do all the work. I think your dad should slap a few hundred dollars in your hand for the work. Great job guys. 73 Joe KN4IFI

For securing the coax, why not use some metal sleeves maybe 100mm long on the winch cable and cable tie them to the coax at 1m intervals? When the antenna is winched up, the sleeves will spread out up the cable while the coax is pulled straight and held in place. Also, I think the idea of attaching guy wires to the bottom of the carriage is an excellent one.

Looks great mate! Hope your all well. I have an old nally that survived the fire.... Will put it up one day! Needs a little straightening.... This tower looks pretty simple and well built. Take care mare. 73 Anthony VK2FAMG

I love the Nallys, we have one of Hermans last ever built 3 sections here, bloody huge, and its so practical for the spot where we have it. If you ever need any repair work on the Nally, Brendan VK3MH is doing heaps of work on Nallys now so always a great contact to have. Keep well Anthony, cheers Brenton VK3CM

The rotator winch is genius.

Been great to see and hear your opinions. I would like to see some sought of cable retention feed system, instead of having the cable/coax flapping around in the wind. Perhaps a few points of attachment/guides that follow the cradle up the pole at regular intervals. Using guy wire in between each point to make them follow the cradle up the pole.

There are a few following the videos that may have fitted before and have engineered ideas, they are very welcome to comment as I agree, we need to stop the coax flapping about for sure. cheers Brenton VK3CM

Remember we mentioned that we had no instructions from the manufacturer, well this is why I believe the product should come with instructions. A very good mate of mine just sent me this below but we have to move the carriage position according to him. We will look at it in the light tomorrow but hes fitted 3 before and he said the following listed below. I list this so we don't lead anyone astray of course.. pls see notes that follow from my mate.... Notes are from my mate VK2OMG the right side the carriage should go the opposite the winch as in winch on back like you have it and carriage on the ram side and turn the top round to correspond when you bring the carriage down it wont get in the way of the ram because the ram will be taken off and when you turn the top plate round with the wheel on it its all ways a good idea to bolt it in place thats why theres a hole there... The bolt holes under the carriage are for you to have stand outs as in coax for dipoles where the ladder line runs down the box section but away from it by a meter it wont tangle the wire or the coax cos they all come down as one piece 🙂 I hope this helps....

How High was this ? I Would Love To Have One that i could raise to about 50-60ft..I Think That Would Be Nice to Have for a VHF/UHF Antenna..My Comet GP-9N To Be Exact & i am not as able to climb as i used to so This would be about my best option Now Days ...As Long As it Did not Cost a Small Fortune as i am just a average joe..

The subject of the incorrect carriage has been covered by Rob VK2OMG, it has been put in a msg to all and also in the description of the video, so many thanks also Brian from NBS towers for pointing this out. We are correcting today and will video an update soon. Pls do not abuse the customer that is just trying to put your tower up, I don't actually feel free to ring you at all after what you have said about me, I wish I did, but this is not the forum for me to discuss why. I think best Brian we just put your towers up, try to give it the best review possible which I think we are being very fair, and maybe not have contact from here. No hard feelings, I think its just best. To all reading this, I actually think the NBS tower/mast is a very well priced item to consider so pls know you can buy with confidence.

How do you retain the coaxe and control cable from flapping in the wind ?

For your pins , grab some 3pl tractor link pins and some good quality cinch clips. They will go nowhere.
