Something that is overlooked a lot by people is introducing new things to deer. Anytime I have tried to put something new out to the deer, they either stay away from it or it takes them forever to come around it. The best thing to do is find things like in the area gather it relocate to a spot. I gather up white oak acorns from an area 1/2 mile or so from where I hunt. And scatter them around within shooting distance at my hunt location. It's more natural and it's not something unfamiliar to the deer. They are used to seeing acorns.

I'm just curious since this is my first time messing with homemade attractant. Is the sodium carbonate not toxic to the deer as they eat it? I mean, if you're taking care to ensure their not ingesting anything bad by eating directly off the ground, is the addition of the laundry booster not bad for them aswell? Not criticising but genuinely curiouse. Cool content!
@NBWildmanАй бұрын
Sodium carbonate is baking soda and almost all commercial attractants have it as an ingredient. The laundry boost is actually all natural soda ash and deer seek it out naturally so we are just putting it in one spot to help them. No harm done

Kelly Belanger Funny you say that I live in NY. A few years ago I was going coyote hunting. I read the hunting syllabus each time I read it the more confused I was. I’m just a 12th grade educated construction worker. Good friend of mine has multiple college degrees he was over the house I asked him to read it. He’s reading for awhile l’m thinking he reads faster than me what’s taking so long. He looks at me and says I have no idea what the hell is legal and what’s not. He said different parts contradicts other parts. 5 years ago or so opening day of deer season bow getting in my car DEC pulls up behind me. He asked me what the hell I was doing I said it’s opening day I’m hunting. He said no it’s next weekend. Thank god i had my hunting syllabus with me, it had 2 different days listed for opening day in it. He couldn’t believe it he said he knew I was hunting and was going to ticket me. Every year it gets more confusing. I have a lifetime hunting for 15 years now only 2 I’ve gotten it in the mail this year it came 3 weeks late. When I try and get a replacement they try charging me $15 for a lost license it’s a nightmare.

Hi! I was wondering, why using sodium (mono)carbonate, since it is NOT an alimentary product (the consumption should be avoided)? On the other hand, a sodium bicarbonate is safe for consumption.
