Marcelito's story is nearly as amazing as his voice. His mother rejected him at birth and custody was given to his father (they had separated), unfortunately his father was serving a lengthy prison sentence, so little baby Marcelito spent the first 2 years of his life in prison with his father. He was then adopted by a prison guard, but it was not a happy childhood and at 9 years old he discovered they were not his real parents and he ran away. He survived by selling food snacks on the city streets. He says he learnt to sing with two voices (not uncommon in the Philippines) as a way to combat the loneliness. He earned extra by singing in bars and cafe's. He met a girl, fell in love and they married. They now have a child of their own, and he has been reconciled to his birth father. He entered Philippines Got Talent last year 2016, and of course won it hands down. He has turned his life around and I am so happy for him.

So many excelent singer here in philippines, not only marcelito...Whenever pilipinos abroad if they start to sing everyone will be captivated by pilipino voice.. Here in philipines it is very difficult to choose a winner in singing contest hence almost everyone can sing very well,one thing marcelito advantages to other singers he has a dual voice in which the he has the excelent quality low voice and excelent high voice without cracking the notes or harmony even he change male to female voice in a fast phase.. Competitions in singing here in philipines are normal thats why most people here in philipines is hard to please in all when it comes to singing because of a high standard judging of the voice

He roamed the streets of Manila fending for himself....at a young age he had to work a pinboy in bowling alley where he would also take shelter and sleep...until he was discovered when he won a song contest...he does not have any voice training

I like to look for fantastic performances that are unbelievable and would like to share with you 2 more. This is a young Dutch girl who sings many performances in Italian. Her name is Amira Willighagen. She has a very big voice for a tiny girl. The first is an " O Sole Mio " duet at only 12 years old that is absolutely incredible ! It currently has 18 million views ! The second you might want to see is " O Mio Babbino Caro " at but 10 years old in front of 15,000 people with Andre Rieu the famous conductor. Standing ovation and now 14 million views. This is incredible because in the beginning she taught herself to sing on KZbin watching Andrea Bocelli and others. No lessons ! She didn't realize she had this incredible talent. Great story.
