I first saw him performed at AGT and I had goose bumps everytime he perform. Fell in love with his voice and his life story. He is such a humble and giving person. He grew up on the streets, only finished 3rd grade, so he never had any VOCAL training. Although he only speaks Tagalog and his native tongue, he can sing in diff languages whether it be in a male voice or female voice, that amazes me more about him. People might say that it's not just MP who can sing in dual voices, but i haven't seen one who can transition flawlessly. Insane is right!!! Marcelito Castro Pomoy IS THE REAL DEAL. Check out his life story; it is worthy of a movie. I had the great privilege of meeting and watching him live in concert last June in Toronto. Watching him live was like an out of body experience. The videos DO NOT do his voice any justice. Your reaction was priceless! It's my understanding that Marcelito Pomoy taught himself this song by listening to a recording by Celine Dion and Andrea Bocelli. His performance is gorgeous considering that he requires a translator to carry on a conversation in English even though he understands it well but has trouble speaking it. He speaks Philipino broken english, but his singing was self taught. He is singing now in English, Italian, Spanish and Chinese but not speaking those languages. Possibility even more by now. He grew up on the streets from age 7 or 8, and now is married and a father! His ambition serves him well in whatever he does!

Like yourself I was blown away when I heard his voice. Like yourself I’ve never heard this kind of talent before. People all around the world are amazed as to his talent, especially other professional singers. He’s singing counter Tenor. I’ve seen a number of reviews & possibly people like myself haven’t heard the term. I learned this from a professional opera singer who said what he did was extremely difficult even for a professional singer. Yes WOW what a voice. Hopefully someone will sign him up for a contract. He apparently didn’t learn English until late in his life. We are all blessed for his voice & talent.

Two nights ago I came across Marcelito singing at AGT and I knew it was real. Also from singing four decades ago, I know what it takes to pull this off and the dedication and training, yet he is self taught. Over the past two days I have watched countless coaches and personalities react and provide in-depth analysis of his technique. He is undoubtedly one of the most gifted singers ever. His register changes are powerful and subtle. His larynx positioning unbelievable as he rapidly, but seemingly effortlessly shifts internal placement. Amazing!

When did I first hear this? I think I was listening on YT to the full CD version of Jonathan and Charlotte's cover of The Prayer, then clicked the Dion/Bocelli original for comparison, then clicked other covers, and... there it was. Yes, Marcelito is an imitator. He's trying to recreate Dion's and Bocelli's voices in this performance. Listen to him do Power of Love, also on the Wish Bus, where he's imitating only Dion, and it's obvious. He was raised as a street kid, no formal voice training. Apparently his mom abandoned the family and his dad was in prison. He cheered himself up by singing, and when his voice changed he just worked hard at keeping his high pre-puberty voice tuned up as well. On top of what was obvious in what you just heard... He's doing Italian phonetically, and yet native Italian speakers who've listened to this vid say he's just as understandable as Bocelli. Maybe he's an autistic savant, I don't know. His English isn't that good either, and he has quite an accent when not singing. AND... he did this sitting down, thereby sacrificing about 30% of his lung capacity. So, yeah, there are no words for this.

I saw Marcelito 3 years ago in San Diego. We met him backstage where he met several fans. What an amazing person. We took photos with him. He is a unique human being. He’s very generous with his fans. I will always follow him. I recently heard another vocal range he has. I look for more surprises from him. He is one unique human. And a sweet and generous man. His mother left him in the street when he was very young. He’s had no voice lessons. Now he has a non profit for homeless children in the Philippines.❤️

I Highly recommend that you scroll some of the talented singers in Philippines especially when they are performing in Wish Bus (Wish 107.5). If you had not heard of Morissette Amon, Michael Pangilinan, TnT Boys or even Bugoy Drilon's "One Day" cover. I suggest that you start searching......
