Watching your travels, it does feel like your summer is way way shorter than what I am used to down in Australia. We don’t have this problem for majority of our thru hikes where winter closes you out. Exception being the Australian Alpine Waling Track and the Overland track in Tassie. But you can do them in winter, no one is going to stop you, Heat is the main problem tho on many hikes.

It's mostly because I carry it attached to my chest. If there were baffled smart water style bottles, I'd be down, but I'm not into nalgene. I do tend to notice how many random noises I make as soon as I hit the record button 😅
