What was the "Biggest Money Item" that you have ever left behind or passed up at a sale?

I went to a goodwill and let go of some vintage kareem Abdul jabbar france addidas shoes because I didn't know about them . Man it seems like NC picker keeps getting all the good stuff lol, maybe it's best to fly solo haha .

@@DRAGOINTHEHOUSE haha, we both did great on this day. I got $600+ items at these sales. He got a bunch of great stuff as well. That’s the risk you run picking with other people but it’s a lot more fun when you have someone with you. How much were the shoes worth that you ended up passing up?

First and foremost, thank you for the kind words! It was the most amazing trip EVER! I miss items all the time. The issues is having a KZbin channel, I’m able to see what I’m missing now. It just hurts a little more during editing, lol.

My toxic trait is thinking I could do yard sale flipping when I know I would just buy stuff for myself and never sell it.
@pickingandpunching Жыл бұрын
Believe it or not, you are not alone. A ton of people have this issue. Even as a reseller myself, it’s hard to put certain items up for sale from time to time.

Go Iron Pigs! And Go Phillies! Dayton's minor league team is the Dragons. Used to live near Dayton, still have family there. We also used to live up the road from Allentown in Stroudsburg, but have no relatives there anymore. Originally from Wilmington, DEL, so big Phillies and Eagles fan. Currently living in NC though...

One time I was at a sale with my family when I was just starting to do eBay and had only watched a few KZbin thrifting videos. You could tell someone in the family was a hunter so there was a lot of Carhartt jackets and stuff, gun parts, and hunting knives. I completely skipped the Carhartt stuff, looked through all of the name brand gun parts and bought none, and bought 2 knives. I had heard of Buck and Cutco knives so I picked up a $3 Cutco knife and a $2 Buck knife off a table filled with probably 50 knives total, I remember telling myself I didn't want to take a risk and buy more. Thinking back to that sale and knowing more brands now, every knife on that table was priced $6 and under and they were all name brands. I sold the Buck knife for like $60 and the Cutco one for $95. That could have been a life changing sale but unfortunately I was unexperienced at the time. Normally I can move on from mistakes but that sale haunts me to this day.

Every pocket has these stories. I’m sure this situation made you do a ton of research after. Now you are a better and more knowledgeable picker because of it. I always look st these situations as a learning experience. I have left thousands of dollars behind, multiple times at sales. Now I’m a better picker because of it.

Born and raised in Hellertown. We were practically neighbors! If you have ever been to the Lost Tavern Brewing in Bethlehem or Hellertown. They have a beer named after my Pro Wrestling Character, “The Scoundrel”. I’m a huge Philly fan still. It’s odd for me to find stuff from the Lehigh Valley in Florida, lol. I plan to come up to the Lehigh Valley to do some picking videos later on this year when I visit my family. Thanks for watching!

@@pickingandpunching Definitely have been to Lost Tavern. I'll have to order one of those brews next time I go back. Philly is the only city I root for also haha. I went to the parade after the last Super Bowl win....not sure if I could do that again lol. Whenever you come back up to visit, shoot me an email. I'll let you know if there are any big community sales planned in the area.
I passed up some Dan Poste boots this weekend for 30. I knew they go for a good price. But the bottoms of the shoes were kinda worn. I have to learn more about boots for sure.

It really comes down to condition. You are 100% right on it. These were vintage and a very unique design. You did the right thing passing up if the condition was questionable.

I made a couple of mistakes in the past but here are my top 2 I put down a Complete Pokemon Topps Early 2000s holo set at a crazy sale because I was overwhelmed with all the crazy stuff I was getting ( still get mad about this one to this day because the value lol) I was at an anime sale and I had a box of 40-50 sealed anime VHSs from the '80s. After I paid for them I found a SNES game in the room and completely forgot about the 40-50 VHSs. I didn't realize I had forgotten them till I got home. The SNES game was only worth about 250 and the VHSs were 1000$+ if I had got them[I scanned the whole room for the best ones :( ]

Only looked on ebay. The other two statues were priced high. One was priced over ebay comps and the other was priced slightly under. I Just assumed that the price was was right in line with the others. When you are at a community garage sale with 50+ sales, I try not to spend a lot of time at every sale. If we would look up everything we would miss out on so much. Majority time I will only use Ebay comps. 99% it works for me. This is that 1% of the time that it didn't. You can't win them all.
