I think that conference champions should get an auto bid to the playoffs just like in CBB. Without the auto bid NC State basketball doesn’t make that amazing run to the final four last year.

ECU is 6-3 vs NCSU and UNC over the last 9 meetings. So maybe the Wolfpack shouldn’t be too embarrassed 🤷♂️
@coffeemountain35623 күн бұрын
No, they should absolutely be embarrassed. EweNC should as well. No excuses losing to EZU. At least the dirty foot club is doing something about their program. Meanwhile the Pack renews their commitment to mediocrity.

Don't lump the Dirty Foot Club in with us. ECU & UNC are 1-7 in the last 8 meetings with NC State

ACC will ultimately be a non power league. Although more resourced than SBC or AAC, the performance is not there. Of course we’ll see Clemson and a few others move on. SEC and BIG10 are in the driver’s seat.

@@LockedOnWolfpack 3-7 if you move it out to 10 games. We all know UNC is scared to play both of us

Miami was a hell of a lot closer to making the playoff than nc state was making the ACC championship game. We all heard that talk from State expectations.

Exactly! If the ACC wants to be a conference long-term, it has to cut the big 10 and the SEC off at the pass. Add Notre Dame to the ACC at all cost. Let them keep their contract with NBC and pay them a full membership to be in. Technically SMU would be paying Notre Dame‘s way for the next eight years. Give them all the money they win in the playoffs and the ACC championship game. The ACC would get the ACC championship game TV rights. With Notre Dame as a potential participant the rights to the ACC championship would become as valuable as the SEC and the Big Ten championship games. Do you think people would rather tune in to see Notre Dame play Miami, Florida State, Clemson, or a Belichick coached Chapel Hill team over just about any pairing in the other conferences? Plus, the ACC would get greater viewership on all those games at the end of the season that have a bearing on the championship game. The Notre Dame fan base would tune in to see SMU play Pittsburgh because it would affect the championship game. Furthermore, the ACC strength of schedule would dramatically improve. This would have a bearing on preseason rankings and rankings all throughout the season. Which ultimately affects rankings and seatings for the playoff. Please spare me all the comments about how difficult it would be and all the things that the ACC needs to do to make it happen. If this doesn’t happen in a few years, the ACC will lose Florida State, Clemson and UNC Chapel Hill at a bare minimum. Then the conference will have to fill in with smaller TV brands. The result will be a further water down ACC that probably will have teams lead to go to the big 12. ACC don’t turn into the Pac 12!

Appreciate the offer but I think I speak for ND when I say we're good. 50 million from NBC + 17 million from the ACC + 20 million from the playoffs? Y'all can't afford us, respectfully.
@robertstwocents23 күн бұрын
@ the ACC can’t afford not to meet Notre Dame‘s price. They can meet it. The bottom, half of the conference realizes that whatever they pony up is going to be far less than they’ll be making if the ACC collapses. The stubborn people are up at the top. The result will be a Big Ten and SEC super league that Notre Dame will have to join to gain access to their playoff. Except for the few ACC teams that managed to switch conferences. The rest will become power five schools like the rest of college football.

All of the NCAA teams should insure their players for the bowl games. The law of large numbers will kick in and the premiums will become reasonable in comparison to the payouts that schools are paid for teams to attend the bowl.
@robertstwocents23 күн бұрын
Smart bowls may even include the insurance as a perk. This might be a way for a lesser bowl to achieve more prominence/ better matchups through the years.

You guys can't the 2-11 seriously? The ACC had 8 teams without their starting QB. I'm not making that up but those are facts. When you play your back up QB its a wrap. Louisville who won their game had their back up QB Bailey starting. I'm not taking these bowl records seriously cause none of these ACC teams had their QBs out there. Look at Miami they score 31 first half points and then they go with the back up in the whole 2nd half as a christmas gift to Iowa State. THe ACC is way better then this but if 8 teams play their back ups against majority of the starting QBs on the other side, how do you think it ends up?
