Glass I found your vids, most helpful. I'm trying to wrap my head around the mini panel(I'm going to use mine hopefully for signals). But your advice on it can basically be added anywhere in the cab bus, as long as there is a cable that you can plug into, is most helpful. I know your video is old(and you've probably moved on to other things), but more tutorials would be awesome!

i have not seen it for signals. i have seen the AIU01 used for signals. but im sure we can figure this out. you are right, that i have moved on. as a matter of fact the layout from this video is no more. i am in the process of designing a new one. im sure the AIU and the Mini panel will come back into play. so stay tuned.

Hey, I went looking at ur channel. Is it set to "for kids". ? No one can comment on any of your videos.

@damongaskin Hey I just watched ur new video. But I can't make comments. Ur channel is market at not for kids.

Hey! Thanks for watching.! And yes, I disabled the comments years ago, when they first started with the bots and spam stuff. I may change it, but things are so much worse with that kind of annoyance.. Do, what did you think?

Another good tutorial there Rick. Among the DCC systems out there, NCE seems to be the leader in providing useful, flexible building blocks for incorporating automation into the base system. Thanks for putting this series together. Art...

I think you already have a cool tag/intro line… “Rick back down here on the layout”. It’s pedestrian, local to you. Love it

Yeah but lots of people often say something similar. Hey thanks for watching.

i swore to my wife that i would never Go DCC because of the cost. I also told her i would never outgrow the 4x8 plywood either. but here i am being all tech central... LOL

with the crisis we are in today don't be surprised if there are a lot of deals that come out once the vendors and suppliers start shipping again. they are going to want to move merchandise to get out of the red and back in the black. you may be able to get a good deal on an NCE starter kit.

holy cow you know a lot about this device! Im blown away!

Experiment and you get the idea. The manual is very technical. I follow @arthurhouston3 on youtube. He goes over all this stuff. Great resource.

why would you even need a button board the switch 8 does the same thing?
@FBMRR4 жыл бұрын
You cant hook toggles or button switches to a switch8. You need the button board for that. The switch 8 is only there as a decoder to give the tortoise an address.

@FBMRR4 жыл бұрын
you only need one of these if you are planning to do automation on your layout or panels in JMRI.
@KerleyExpress4 жыл бұрын
@@FBMRR so what do you mean by automation. I was setting thinking about this lol
@FBMRR4 жыл бұрын
You can program the mini panel to do things automatically when triggered. I have another video coming out in a day or two that might explain more. Hang tight and stay tuned.
