Dont know if people will see this but with the compound interest question, the reason why A/P = 2 is because P is doubling, so 2P=P(1+r/100)^n, this means that 2P/P=(1+r/100)^n, and 2P/P=2 which is another way to represent the principal investment doubling.

Wait, why do we solve for the discriminant again at the end - for the k^2 + 2k + 3? What does it actually represent? I thought there always needs to be like an equals to or less than greater than when you write that formula.

Alright soo...the reason you have another k eqation at the end is coz there is a common factor of 8 in the discriminat eqation before it...soo you can just take out the common factors and divide the other side by 8 ( which will give you zero )...then you just have k^2+2k+3...I'm pretty sure you can still use the other eqation...its just infinity has factored it....hope this helped and hope it got to you on time...good luck for externals... ಥ_ಥ

On Q.2d at 26:44 I found three points on the parabola, (0, 0), (1.8, 2.43) and (3.6, 0) and put it into STAT on my graphics calculator and then found the 2 intercepts through x=0.5 3.404 and 0.196, and still got the same answer of 3.208m. Do I still get full marks?

for 2d, with the equation I originally did the height from 0.5m where the rail was, did you do it from the 2.43 originally so you could figure out the k? and if so, when should I apply this for other answers instead of finding the answer using the variables data instead of the overall data. also if you could define to me what a constant is thatd be cool too, just kinda confused. -sorry if this is confusing english isnt my first lanuage, Thanks

When you find the discriminant of the k equation to prove that there are no real roots at 55:33 , can you just put the equation into the calculator and it will tell you that there are no real roots? Is this a valid justification?

I mean mathematically it is equivalent, maybe check the marking schedule for 2019 and see does it say and equivalent? If not then I think you must simplify further, whenever you see 3 division symbols make it into 2 everytime just to stay safe.
