Hi infinity plus one. In question 1 (c) there is an easier way to figure out mean, median, lq etc. Step 1. Go to STAT function in GC. Step 2. Input minutes from x-axis into list one and corresponding frequency from y-axis into list 2 (go to F6 and make sure that 1 Var Freq is set to List2). Step 3. Press CALC then press 1 VAR. Then you should be able to read all of the needed results.

For question one e(i) how did you go from p(X < 2000) = 0.85 to p(Z < z) = 0.85 and what does Z and z stand for?

If anything, I wouldn't worry about those two lines and implement it straight into the equation. I'd probably skip out 16:24 to around 17:24. Makes it less confusing maybe, z is pretty much just what you get when you put the sd to 0 and mean to 1, that answer. Although the answers do have that bit you're asking about, for excellence it does say "valid working and/or diagrams" so just make sure to include diagrams. Take all this with a pinch of salt as I'm still learning too though.

What is the difference between Npd, Ncd and InvN? And how do I know which one to use?

Npd is normally not used, Ncs is when u need the prabability of something when u are given an upper and lower boundary (like Q1. A) and InvN is when u want to find the probability or mean/standered deviation or youare given an area in the question.

@@ninjapirate123Really good thanks! They had the probably trees at the start and i only got the 3x, and x thing correct because of your video. I’m happy with how the other 2 questions went too on tables/relative risk, and the easy one using models and x values

@@ninjapirate123 I wouldn’t say so, The probability trees at the start were a bit harder but if anything the other two questions were just as easy if not easier (to me anyway). Helps to use the SOLV on your calculator too when your not good at calculus, many people don’t know they can do it so fail on all the questions needing algebra. Also the one question that i found a bit tricky was when they asked why a normal distribution wouldn’t fit very well with the watch time of tv for students in nz (they asked for 2 reasons why a normal distribution wouldn’t be a good fit)

The values ( 1, 4, 7, 13) add up to 25 which is half of 50, the 13 is at 8 Minutes so the mean = 8 i think

Sir, is probability part of statistics, which would be one of the two options for students to choose from (the other one is algebra and calculus). In short, students get to choose to do one of them, not both areas. Do I understand this correctly?

In Level 2 there is Algebra with Calculus and then the Stats route with Probability.

You minus 0.5 so 0.85 minus 0.5 gives 0.35 cause we’re only finding the green bit
