He pauses for a moment, then asks, "Can I join you?" Sasuke smiles. "Of course." Boruto sits down on the branch next to Sasuke. He closes his eyes and takes a deep breath. "This is actually pretty nice," he admits. Sasuke pats Boruto on the shoulder. "I told you so." The two boys sit in silence for a while, enjoying the tranquility of the moment. Boruto breaks the silence first. "Sasuke," he says, "thanks for being my friend." Sasuke looks at Boruto, surprised. "What for?" "For always being there for me, even when I don't deserve it," Boruto says. "And for always being honest with me, even when it's hard." Sasuke smiles. "You're welcome, Boruto." The two boys continue to sit in silence, their friendship a comforting presence in the midst of a turbulent world.

My theory is that the Otsusuki started out as some form of a 10 tails. One of them happened to eat something along the lines of a divine fruit, which gave them consciousness & evolved their power. I always thought it strange that the Otsusuki & 10 Tails shared Dojutsu as a power. Makes it seem as if they're genetically linked. I feel Code's tinkering gave them an early consciousness once they had acquired human DNA. Their goal will be to create a Divine Tree & reenact what created the Otsusuki to begin with, therefore making them something like an evolved version of an Otsusuki. Sounds a bit ridiculous, but considering how little we know about the Otsusuki, it'd be a good way to introduce their origin while creating a threat that's even above the power of someone with Otsusuki DNA & Power such as Boruto.

I agree, however the dojutsu is a weak link as they feed some of an otsotsuki to a divine tree which is probably what links them, however straight from seed to tree with no otsotsuki is very interesting, because if something else ate the fruit or the tree kept the power and absorbed some other life perhaps that being was the first otsotsuki?

Ohtsutsukification affects DNA and enables new abilities that use chakra, but I'm not sure if it alters chakra. I'd venture to guess all the chakra sharing was between 10T and Jigen, Isshiki being mostly down for the count inside the ear. I'd LOVE to learn more about human techniques monks like Jigen practiced before Kaguya's arrival and the discipline of ninshu. That's the kind of thing I wish the anime did when not adapting the manga rather than the majority of filler that takes itself too seriously.

I think it's the 10 tails gaining sentience. I bet the 10 tails has a connection to the claw grimes and the trees they create. The 10 tens tails then soaked up the personalities to create avatars out of the claw grimes, which came with their intelligence. Think of 6 paths of pain. Same concept. When the Mohawk avatar is saying he doesn't want to eat Boruto, that's the ten tails saying he doesn't want to turn into a tree.

If he can find a way to control shinjus and sic them on Boruto, he will do so, even if that ended up burning down everything around him. None of the consequences of his actions will directly harm Naruto, so he won't care

I think everyone is looking at this incorrectly and that the ten tails itself split into four different entities and those were the shinju. I say this because 1) the chakra rods are still pinned to the ground. If it was abducted then someone must have had to use space time ninjutsu which I don't think could have happened that quickly 2) The claw grimes that bite the people themselves turn into a tree. I think the claw grimes work as an extension and ten tails is the hive mind. When the bite someone, the ten tails is able to access their chakra and personality and hence ten tails split into four people and became shinju.

I have a feeling the fact that the Shinju inherit the personality of the it's host is actually going to backfire. Who's to say they won't also inherit parts of the host's memories? Because unlike Pain's six paths, the host bodies are alive. Making me think at some point they might be able to fight back. It would also connect back to Boruto, who is fighting Momoshiki's will. It would be wild if Sasuke Shinju clone actually comes back under his control, it wouldn't be the first time he's fought another consciousness in his body (orochimaru). Also, maybe the fact he already had a rinnegan before might give him an advantage.

Y'know, I'm starting to suspect that the Otsutsuki Clan _originated_ from a group of ancient Shinju that figured out how to evolve _without_ turning into a God Tree. Consider, these Shinju have _a lot_ in common with pure-blood Otsutsuki already: They can freely absorb Chakra from other beings, including each other; they have the same creepy white complexion; they all are born with _at least_ one powerful Doujutsu; and they all evolve in some way when they consume enough Chakra. In fact, if my suspicion is correct, that means we have an entire evolutionary chain: White Zetsu --> Claw Grime --> Shinju --> Otsutsuki

I think it's also possible that the jigen shinju or main shinju is the main ten tails body it evolved and became the shinju we saw floating above the area it was pinned at. Also we all noticed that shinju displayed something similar to the rinnegan on its chest. Now you can say the others could have it on there chest we just didn't see it. But you also have to say showing that marking on the one shinju depicted to be the "main" can't be just a coincidence.

Shinju sees Ten Tails as one parent, but we know who exactly is another figure for the Shinju within the Uzumaki family. One that was already Otsutsuki at first hand. One that holds Hagoromo’s, Hamura’s and even Toneri Otsutsuki’s chakra. How exactly did Boruto communicate with Toneri after defeating Momoshiki? Wondering if the Shinju formed because of Sasuke being trapped in the divine tree since his reincarnation of Indra’s chakra. Curious what would happen if they got Naruto as well with his Ashura chakra. I just had a thought. Would Edo Tensei Reanimations be effected by Omnipotence? Either at the time, meaning they were reanimated during when it was used, or afterwards, being reanimated after it was used. Boruto could've gone back in time to learn Hirashin, or Orochimaru could've brought Minato back, as I believe he, having a White Zetsu body, would likely be resistant, if not immune to it.

Personally I think just splitting the 10 tails up into different pieces would make something like this happen. At least at some point. Because we know the first ten tails was broken up into the other tailed beasts and they all gained personalities. What Code did is just the same thing but on a greater scale. Maybe it takes longer because of how he did or something but to a degree it makes sense they would gain an ego at some point.

I think that the shinju are extensions of the ten tails. I think destroying the emaciated ten tails might have the effect of destroying the shinju, which is why they probably moved the main body using code’s claw marks (remember they can use claw marks independently of code). I think having an ego made them smarter on how to survive. Boruto probably figured that the easiest way to defeat the shinju would be to destroy the main body of the ten tails, which is why he went after it.

what if Shibai Otsutsuki is all 4 of them at once like something similar to the RInnegans ability to use dead people as puppets. it would make some sense since all those 4 probably have the same chackra signature as the Juubi. or What i f Shibai Otsutsuki used to be like 1 of those 4. a Juubi like creature that gains consciousness and evolved. my 2nd theory about the Otsutsukl. is that they are just humans that evolved using the Juubi. like obsorbing the Juubi makes you completely white/grey. idk im high rn lmao

Maybe the shinju were created because of the partial otsutsuki dna that propagated in the ninja world? The partial dna plus human dna giving them sentience as opposed to full otsutsuki dna making it a divine tree? Like Sasuke being uchiha, and moegi able to use wood release maybe hinting at hashirama lineage or just senju dna? Maybe Bug and the others were related to an unremarkable senju/uchiha/hyuga/uzumaki? Let's not forget, the ten tails lack any form of consciousness. What if their goal is to make the ten tails conscious and tame it as some sort of controlled jinchuriki. Like naruto and kurama. The lack of ego and super ego the ten tails has could be the goal of the shinju. Maybe they seek the eternal knowledge of the ten tails but to do that, they need to make it conscious

I think it's interesting that the Shinju's "hair" and cloaks/clothes look like giant versions of Code's claw marks. Black areas with white rivets along the general shapes. What do y'all think? Is it just a design choice, coincidence, or could it mean something more?
