Tobirama is the most underrated character in the series. He invented half the plot devices and op jutsu himself. His ideology was the most logical and correct. He looked dope AF. If he was as powerful as hashirama it wouldn't even be a debate who the greatest hokage was.

For its clear that Tobirama was the greatest Hokage by far. Not powerwise but in my opinion a leader dont need to be powerfull. He need to be a good leader, and make the best decisions for the village. And Hashirama was probably one of the worst Hokage, because he was so full of love and forgivness, like Hiruzen. Even tho he was a great man, as a leader you need to be a little brutal ant some times, and loving and peacefull at other times and Tobirama was just perfect in it.

I love that you brought positivity about Tobirama in this video. I love the „i hate all uchihas“ memes as much as anybody but his character is often just reduced to that. Tobirama is a complex character because I believe there was still hate in him against the Uchihas, he lost so many loved ones to them and he spent most of his formative years fighting them for his life and survival, it only makes sense. But there is also forgiveness and reason in him. He wanted peace as much as his older brother did but wasn’t as naive as hashirama. He knew love wouldn’t solve all of their problems, but neither would power. And ngl I can imagine that his own time as Hokage was difficult just because while his brother and Madara brought peace, someone had to try and maintain it and that is a very difficult, maybe even impossible task at that time.

I love how the last fight between Hashirama and Madara emphasizes their different fighting styles. Hashirama shows off the diversity of his skillset, and Madara is just spamming sharingan abilities. The problem with starting the 1st unified village in your world is that you have nothing to look upon when in need of advice or guidance. Youre writing the rules as you go along. Sure, if youre Hashirama, the first leader, you want your successor to be not only somebody everyone likes but you want them to be a leader that is strong and smart. Tobirama was probably the only choice seeing as he was probably loved by the people who were in Konoha thanks partly to Tobirama and he was probably the strongest in the village. When Tobirama needed a successor, he was in the middle of a world war, its mighty difficult to organise a demoratic election when potential candidates are dropping dead like flies. Tobirama found someone he thought had the qualities of a leader. Perhaps the reason the Senju message and way of life continues to echo throughout Konoha even though the Senju themselves have been bred out of existence is because its a message that most of the people agree with. If the Senju way of thinking was unpopular, their ways of living wouldve been abandoned. Also, one doesnt need to do much logical thinking as to why the Uchiha were unpopular in Konoha in terms of democratic processes. They kept to themselves refusing to integrate with the greater purpose of the Village and the strongest Uchiha to have ever lived tried to wipe out the entire village. Youd think that if the Uchiha were so keen to achieve peace that they would loosen their restrictive way of life after their LEADER attempted to destroy everything. But no, they continued to live like they had before and its understandable as to why people would be suspicious of them

You got to think about from an old Japanese stand point. Usually the weakest clans/poorest people live on the outskirts, they weren't allowed to hold any positions of power. Basically they treated them kind of badly in terms of how they were supposed to be treated since they were one the top 3 clans.

One thing I'd like people to note about the Uchiha is that their abilities/power at not tied to hate but LOVE. Tobirama explained this when meeting Sasuke and it was shown with Sarada "activating" her sharingan when meeting her father. Love may breed hate but it's boiled down to strong emotion. Zetsu altered the Uchiha tablets to manipulate the Uchiha/ incarnations of Indra in order to speed along his goal of reviving Kaguya but it's not the only way to awaken the sharingan let alone the Mangekyo. A lot of the lore we have of the Mangekyo and Eternal Mangekyo stem from what Itachi told Sasuke... Itachi being a known liar in this regard as well as misinformed. You do not have to kill your best friend to awaken either, and you probably don't need your "brothers" eyes to awaken EMS. I'm hoping Boruto takes note and follows this path for Sarada.

It sounds good, but acumulation of power has lead to really bad things in Shinobi history. A Senju and Uchiha mix would be too much. Just one crazy mixed person would be enough to Doom everybody.

@@CasperAJ Im not sure a Senju/Uchiha child would awaken the Rinnegan. It's explained that to awaken the Rinnegan, you need to recreate Hagoromo's chakra. And the way to do it is mixing Indra's and Ashura's chakra. It's not about their families, but their chakra. Madara and Sasuke awaken it because they are Indra's reincarnation and had Hashirama's cells (Ashura's reincarnation). Also Sasuke was given chakra by Hagoromo himself. It's not about mixing Senju and Uchiha's genetics. If it worked that way, Obito would have awaken the Rinnegan (he had to steal Madara's from Nagato's body). Even Danzo would have the rinnegan (he has Sharingan and Hashirama's cells). But Even if a Senju/Uchiha child wouldnt awaken the rinnegan, it would be really powerful. Probably more powerful than members from any of both clans witch is crazy

I would love a video explaining why Naruto is considered a Uzumaki instead of a Namikaze like his father. I know that there probably isn't too good of an explanation for this, but maybe in the video you could also just go over the Namikaze clan and why it is that Minato was so powerful without being part of the "powerhouse" clans. Spitballing a little here. The Namikaze likely were not a strong nor large clan. However Minato was a once in a generation (if not more) prodigy of skill. I'd consider him an anomaly and not the norm. Combining that with the effort he puts in and you have what he is, a very strong Shinobi that grew during war times and I'd say didn't even live to his full potential due to such an early death. The Namikaze name was made famous by Minato, not the other way around and this being such an uncommon thing it made more sense to hide Naruto under the Uzumaki name rather than Namikaze because there were more Uzumaki he could be related to and only one Namikaze name that anyone would think of if they heard it.

@Quincy you don’t need to have a strong clan or bloodline to be powerful. The same reason why some NBA stars have their parents at 5’10 while they end up being 6’8. Of course genetics and your clan are important to a shinobi’s power, but it isnt a set rule that you NEED to come from a powerful clan to be powerful.

Uzamaki for the Chakra stroages and longer life. Also it goes into this latin phrase Si vis pacem, para bellum, meaning "If you want peace, you should prepare for war". We should follow the phrase pamwe chete "all together", "together only" or "forward together". Rhodesian selous scouts.

Ya know for a clan that had the "body" of the Sage they don't seem all that special imo. Given how hax the Uchiha can become I'm surprised the Uchiha didn't come out on top more often than not. If the Uchiha get stronger through powerful emotions I always believed the Senju/Uzumaki should've had combat empowerment where they get stronger the more they fight. Seems like a good balance.

I think I just figured out how Hashirama died.... his body healed so fast that he could heal instantly... it's basic science that cells can only split so many times... think of how many cells were splitting to regenerate full limbs.... he died because his body ran out of potential for mitosis

Thank you for mentioning that madara used genjutsu on kurama, that was a topic that came up in a previous video's comment section, for some reason some people think that mangekyo has an ability that's directly connected to the ninetails, I was arguing what I thought was obvious which is that the mangekyo simply makes their genjutsu strong enough to control a tailed beast level creature who is in genjutsu, and that's the only reason why its eluded to that a mangekyo user can control the nine tails like fugaku said.

At 1:23 a good side note is that given many people may never want to or sometimes try to not deep dive into hagoromo and his sons and Indra and ashura. I definitely think it’s an amazing thing to side note that eventually clans that had specialities both in and out of the region hagoromo was would make sense. Eventually due to the amazing ability of chakra to connect people it’s possible these are the other clans that evolved. I can see the hyuga, the inuzuka clan and the Nara as in the one who looks like shikamaru and then the hyuga most likely didn’t come at all cause hagoromo doesn’t have the chakra properties of his brother or it’s genes. But he had that potential to pass it on and possibly hamura may have also tried to teach people about chakra passing on that trait through ashura to make the byakugan possible the rest of the lore is within the naruto the last movie. But that’s definitely a good observation to keep in mind so ashuras wife probably eventually learned the technique given how chakra evolved and she knew medical ninjutsu at the time as well.

A part of the fighting between uchiha and senju had to to do with black zetsu rewriting the uchiha stone tablet. Madara believed in what it said not knowing he was being used.

from what i gathered and read, having remembered the time danzo was being a hokage canidate, kakashi said something about the 'Jonin assmebly' what i found through reading is this line from the wiki which is the end all be all BUT it usually contains the most relevant information when one needs it. Quote, "In Konohagakure, it is up to the jōnin to decide whether a candidate Hokage would be given the position permanently" so after Sarutobi, it was up to the jonins to decide which of the canidates would be the fourth hokage, between the three, fugaku, minato, and orochimaru. the Assembly chose Minato. So the democratic vote IS still in konaha just through a different line of people

Video idea: history of each village, because 1) we have too many info on Konoha to even know how exactly things went in just that village before Naruto, while Naruto and after Naruto and TOO MANY fillers that add on history that is not needed 2) we definitely don't know the proper history of other villages, even if we know what wars happened, which of them participated, what clans are in those villages, we may not even realize the real history of each village as the villages exist outside of the main characters' eyesight Thanks for all you and your editor do to make high quality and very accurate content on any anime topic you get your brain to work on! i think the senju clan, considered the village as part of the clan. and therefore intermarriage for them was not an issue. so they kinda fully integrated into the village itself until at least in what we know , only Tsunade holds the surname "Senju" right now. the uchiha did not really see it the same way, they continue to marry into the clan. however this backfired to them and made them isolated, in the end same as the senju their blood line thinned out, only two remain now.

I wish Itama got to grow up a bit since he was the only character with black n white hair. It would’ve been gangsta af if he had an affinity for a certain element or chakra nature like Hashi (Wood) and Tobi (Water) for example Lightening (with a Kekkei Genkai) since his hair is two colors he got two infinte chakra natures.

The special ability of the clan wasn’t wood style. It was dragon style, Toby Rama used it as a water, dragon and Hashi Rama used it as a wood dragon.

Same for Hitake. I think outside of the Clan Names that always existed.. People outside of the Akimichi/Nara/Yamanaka/Hyuga/Aburame’/Inuzuka Clans, most likely have Senju/Uzumaki in them. Even these house may have SOME in them as well! Think about it. I have the list of the Uzumaki which is easy due to their description and how they were details to have scattered everywhere to survive and blood lines branched out. The rest that show great life force or prowess/chakra pool are of Senju or Uzumaki descent some how. I think Minato/Jiraiya/Kakashi/Dan and the Likes Clans’ came from the Senju. Senju Woman, must have been the majority, married off. AND/OR TOBIRAMA had wive/s and their children took the Mother’s Names.

"What clan would you be in?" - very VERY interesting question!! There's a lot of answers from me, because I like a lot of clans. One of those clans - Uzumaki, because they are the clan that were amazing at fuinjutsu, arguably the BEST ability ever, because even Otsutsuki can be sealed if you know strong enough seal and have enough chakra. They were too strong to not be wiped out, but come on, Adamantine Chains are no joke even for tailed beasts, Kurama can prove. Next are Aburame, because GODDAMN, THEY ARE SO UNDERRATED. Not sure if I will get deadliest bugs, but working with bugs overall requires A LOT of knowledge about bugs, plants, environments, nature overall, behavioral psychology, poisons and many many more. Yes, it's hard, it's a lot to take on, but once you become smart enough, then you are the person with whom no one would want to mess either because they don't like bugs, or because they know you use bugs and can do something too crazy for their taste. Senju is a good option too, but there's a big BUT. I want to be descendant of Tobirama specifically, because I need that gen of smartness and brilliance mixed with versatility of that man. He doesn't need kekkei genkai to be as cool as he already is! And we all know how strong Senju are :) Another underrated clan - Yamanaka. Do you know how cool it is to be a sensor ninja of THAT level?? You know how cool it is to have an alliance with both Nara and Akemichi? You know how messed up things can be done if you get in person's mind or take over their body? If you can't come up with more than a few ideas for them, than you are deeply underestimating them and their abilities!!! Probably the last one I will write here, but not the last I would like to be a part of - Hozuki. GIVE ME THAT NATURAL KAMUI. Give me the ability to be deadly in water. Give me the power to blend with nature as water. Give me the ability to kill with high pressure water bullets. I already love to drink water, nothing to worry for me!!! Of course, Hyugas and Uchihas are cool, but that's not my taste. But yes, they are amazingly cool. I just want my freedom to marry person I want, outside of my family and I don't want to have the necessity to be traumatized to get stronger, I don't want to suffer from using my goddam eyes

Finally someone who doesn’t thrash Tobirama like he was some hateful arrogant jerk. Tobirama is my favorite Kage not just because of how strong he is, nor his drip factor. But for the fact that he was more human than the rest imo. Tobirama was practical and insightful, he understood the flaws of the Uchiha, their capacity for love gave them great capacity for loss and they unfortunately were not good at dealing with loss. He didn’t hate them, he just knew how dangerous they could be unchecked. In fact like you said in the video he didn’t even fear most Uchiha just Madara because he knew what Madara was capable of. Tobirama even had an Uchiha student whom it can be assumed he cared for as much as he did his other students. He saw flaws and did his best to correct them and not just ignore them. Yeah that didn’t end up exactly how he planned but he’s still human, even his plans may not go according to how he wanted. He couldn’t predict the future. All he could do was the best he could and hope things worked out after he was gone.

It was the Sarutobi and Shimura clans that first joined Konoha, not the Sarutobi and Nara. However the Nara, Akimichi and Yamanaka clans are vessels of the Sarutobi ceremonially giving trios of them a set of earrings to cement their sworn comradary.
