You're right. Classified is definitely something you'll hear a lot. Along with 'its need to know' or 'you're not read in' and 'you don't have clearance for this information'. All of the above backed up with 'a matter of national security'. Gibbs doesn't exactly care about whether he's supposed to know something or not. If he needs to know, he'll find out Sadly for this guy, I think it was more than him getting caught. It was only from 2000 that you were even allowed to serve in the military if you were gay. This was only 2003? Things weren't exactly different by then despite the rules. So he would probably have ended up losing his job, his wife and his religious beliefs were also strained.
