Probably because you could relate to losing a family member (in better circumstances of course) whereas you couldn’t relate to someone being sniped while they were on a rooftop.

I have been watching this show from beginning to end. The police procedurals are a smaller part of a long term set of tragic romances. I cried a lot watching this show. Now I am tempted to start all over but I am not certain I want the grief. Now that I have seen most of Season 19 I am waiting for Season 20. I just hope we do not lose any more of our friends.
