Iowa is a lot further south but the permanent shacks have to be off mid to late February on West Lake Okoboji, East Lake Okoboji, and Spirit Lake (Iowa regulations). I believe (from memory), the date is usually right at February 20. The ice wasn’t anything great there either this year. There were a couple weeks of cold air but overall this winter has been tough for finding ice that’s of little to no concern. This year, most of the ice has been weak. Lake Winnipeg though - they’re driving on that lake quite nicely. Again, thank you, Curt, for the consistent and steady updates.

Not that I remember. I dont fish very far into March but the house usually can be out longer. Keep in mind there are still plenty of houses out there.
