Sam is the most awesomer sidekick. His on camera skills were great last year. This year, he's so articulate and inclusive everytime. I'd love to see the outtakes, especially last week. I hope we see more of him throughout the year.

Couple of tips, to get a lot better at fileting, catch and cook a bunch of pan fish......you can get a lot of experience really quickly. I also recommend peanut oil over canola oil.

The thing I like about Minnesota is that there is always about two feet of ice in the middle of the season and you don't even have to worry about falling through

This lake is my favorite by far even got myself a place up there. Go up about every weekend. One weekend this summer we caught 23 walleye in 4 and a half hours. Next weekend we got 3 between 21-24, one 25, and a 28. And just 4 miles away the next weekend caught a 39 inch northern. It is such a great Lake!

I know a guy that takes his 3/4 ton out on 6-8". Crazy! Also saw an old guy once come way out on the lake in his jeep. waters gushing out the holes, 100 yards or more from shore, let alone an access point and fully aware of the ice being 3-4 inches he's bombing around checking stuff out hahaha. Wonder how many years that old guy did that for. I'm iffy walking on it that thin haha.

Just as an FYI, beer batter is supposed to be combined with a liquid....like beer. Then once you have a true batter, you coat the fish then fry it. Compare it to Long John Silvers, where even the chicken tastes like fish.

Last time I was up there this last feburary the water pressure was so high we had 8-9 inches of water on top of the ice, not to mention 35+ inches of ice with 25 foot of water, it was a pain in the ass to get the fish back down the hole if we didnt want them, ice was so thick we couldn't even use the ice scoop to push the fish down
