Really love this drum and your playing too Nick. Sometimes the most unassuming drum can be the one that you never want to part with! Great video as always.

Really appreciate that, thank you @rubytuesday1345 ! So crazy how these vintage 3 ply mahogany shells can have metal overtones. It's wild

I absolutely love this. I may have found a wood snare I love! Certainly can see genres this would be awesome.

So crazy it's like the WFL field parade snare, right?! Metal overtones when it's tuned higher, noting but beef in lower tunings.

Great video. You mentioned that some of the wood snares from that era have metal snare tones. It will be interesting to compare or have a blind test between wood snares from 60's with metal snares.

That's a great idea! Or a video that's a blind test between wood and metal regardless of era to see if people can ID

You have the classic maple kit set up for this video.

Sure do! Wanted to change it up - love the attack I get out of them

I would say you need to turn the snare up slightly in your mix. Rest of the kit sounds great.

Noted! I'm always trying to improve the mix, really appreciate this🥁
