i have latent variable which is measured through 2 items, so to avoid the probleme of identification, can i use the score of the two items and treat it as an observed variable?

Isn't instrumental variable acting like a moderator. If not what is the difference between an instrumental variable and moderator variable. Please guide in this regard.

In this case, the instrumental variable acting as a mediator variable, not like a moderator variable.
