some NCT songs if you're looking for bars/rap: misfit, regular, the himalayas, ok, new axis, mad dog, sit down some NCT songs that are just peculiar/got hate for how different they are but also have a lot of rap: sticker, simon says, firetruck, chain, superhuman, boss, cherry bomb, limitless, let's play ball, earthquake, lemonade, punch, wakey wakey (lol i can go on and on for this list) NCT is also very good at exploring the R&B genre so there's a whole other stack of songs on that too

mmm you experienced something called an anti-drop which is very common in kpop. Some people hate it, some love it, some grow to love it 😀 The first nct song you reacted to wasn't the same nct as this , I know confusing. There's 4 different units, 3 set ones and 1 unit that rotates member every comeback. [ nct 127 - nct dream - wayv - nct U(the rotating one) ] Hmmm I would definitely not agree with nct127 wanting to be mainstream, the music they make especially their titletracks are very ... experimental and shocking to a lot of people. I agree that NCT is really not mainstream friendly (even though some tracks are and many have had a huge success regardless). They are one of the most "weird" sounding groups in kpop. They get a lot of hate - even some tracks have divided the fans (such as Sticker). I think they are wonderful. Also I agree 1000% to watch/react to the Japanese version of Limitless instead of the Korean version. The Korean version has a pretty unimpressive video and the performance video (which has the most views) is ok but the stylist's hair and outfit choices made it so cringe to watch. The Japanese version was made a year later and has a slightly different mix of singers as well.

NCT has 2 types of lyrics: Slutty or completely nonsensical. Generally we try not to look too deeply into them as you're just going to give yourself a headache. Was like absolutely crying at the "What in the Willy Wonka and his Chocolate Factory am I watching." My week sucked and this made me laugh so hard so thank you for that. This is also a very accurate and appropriate reaction to NCT. My personal favourites from NCT are: Save (NCT 127), Hello Future (NCT DREAM), Fire Truck (NCT 127), Lemonade (NCT 127), Boss (NCT U), Make a Wish (NCT U), Turn Back Time (WayV), and Sticker (NCT 127). Also of note Mark (the second rapper) had a solo song this year called Child. Another one that might be worth checking out is Zoo which featured Taeyong, Jeno, Hendery, and Yangyang of NCT along with Giselle of Aespa which showcases a lot of their rapping.

NCT ('Neo Culture Technology') as a whole is split into 4 different units as of now: NCT 127, NCT Dream, WayV and NCT U. NCT 127, NCT Dream and WayV are groups with fixed members (like Stray Kids) and have their own sound that doesn't change (much): - NCT 127 is probably the most 'neo' group under the NCT umbrella sound-wise, very experimental and daring ('Sticker' being their most experimental title track yet, you either love it or hate it) (debut song: 'Fire Truck', latest title track: '2 Baddies') - NCT Dream consists of the youngest NCT members (2 members are also part of NCT 127), they have a 'coming of age' type style since they were 14-17 when they debuted back in 2016 and now they're grown-ups, so their sound matures and evolves alongside them, but it's more on the youthful (≠ cute) side due to them still being young (debut song: 'Chewing Gum', latest title track: 'Beatbox') - WayV is the Chinese unit, their music is in Mandarin, they have a more sexy/dirty sound (debut song: 'Take Off', latest title track: 'Turn Back Time') NCT U ('U' = United) on the other hand isn't a fixed group, everyone who is part of the NCT umbrella is part of NCT U and every member can be part of an NCT U song, their sound can be anything e.g. 'Misfit' (rap song) or 'Coming Home' (ballad) (debut song: 'The 7th Sense', latest title track: 'Universe (Let's Play Ball)'). So when checking out NCT you need to pay attention to which unit you are reacting to otherwise you will think they are all over the place and inconsistent (which NCT U is but it isn't a fixed unit) lmao.

You could react to all of their songs in order, but it would take a long time since NCT is essentially split into 4 groups. Some of NCT's best hip-hop songs are from their last few albums so you would have to listen through years of music before you get to it. Maybe listen to one sub-unit at a time (so you can get an understanding of each one's music style) or prioritize the hip-hop songs to see if you want to continue to the title tracks. Either way I think you'll have fun exploring their music.

If you do want to do them in order, "Firetruck" was the first NCT 127 song. It will be interesting to see if you get the video concept or not on first listen (a lot of people misunderstood it ). WayV's debut was a Chinese version of NCT 127's "Regular" so I instead recommend "Take off" as their first song that was their own. I do not recommend the first NCT Dream song (Chewing Gum) as their initial concept was teen focused and it doesn't seem like a track you will enjo, at least not until you explore more of their songs. Dream really matured a lot as the members aged (they are in their early 20s now). With NCT Dream, I'd go in reverse order since their concept and sound changed so much (Beatbox and Glitch Mode are their most recent).

The very essence of N(eo) C(ulture) T(echnology)…is the very opposite of trying to be mainstream. Understandably music is a cut throat industry and many artists and especially their managing agencies want the mainstream of being successful i.e. measured by becoming popular/well known, earn lots of money, be successful, etc. and you will probably already seen many trying to make it into the US market. NCT music is well known to be NEO - their 2 trademarks being: experimental and versatile means, no song is ever the same one to the next. They mix genres into one song, change beats from 8/8 to 3/8, adding weird yet addictive beat and sound effects and adlibs (they have both producers as well as producing themselves). In other words, they are in a league of their own and that is why you haven’t heard from them until now: coz they grow their fanbase by word of mouth and they always stress at every song and album release, how they are measuring their success “against their own last release” and not by winning such and such awards or entering such and such top ten charts. Their music arrangement is done “on purpose” whether making a beat hard core, or pulling it back - which is again the reason why they are never in the mainstream because they make their own “love it or leave it” music and that is why many of their songs are addressed to the haters who always mock their music and whose ears can only handle mainstream, generic verse-chorus-verse-chorus sound (a very popular north american music group who are also youtube reactors to kpop have understood and talked about this in one of their reaction videos to NCT’s past song release). So rest assured: there is no mistake and whether listeners would love or hate their song, everything is done intentionally (and since you mentioned Bang Chan whom we love very much: he is actually probably the biggest idol fan of NCT and really good friends with them and always says he looks up to them, he also plays, jams, and promotes NCT songs in his live streams at almost all if not all of NCT’s song releases…you can find many of those clips here in youtube…so I trust he would not have changed anything at all since he loves NCT music and knows that NCT knows what they are doing :)) ). Interesting reaction :) I never heard anybody call 127s title track 'mainstream' (except maybe touch) I get what you mean with the drop into the chorus Personally I feel like the song might get to hectic if you add anymore because every chorus adds something Since the visual and song are already quite overwhelming, it might be too much for me if the chorus was even more intense I appreciate the honesty though! Also this sound might be more mainstream now, but I feel like for kpop it's still pretty experimental My recommendations: Nct 127 - simon say (i think this summarises 127's neo sound the best) Nct u - 90s love (more of a retro(?) hiphop sound) Nct 127 - sticker (this song relly divided the fandom. They are definitely something new cause as time goes by they will be adding and adding more people. Also the whole nct has 4 sub-units Nct Dream ( the younger ones of the group) Nct U ( they don't have specific members it's the one sub-unit that they take people from the sub-units and, depends on how the song is) Nct 127 (has nine members specifically as you saw. Also the leader of Nct is Taeyong the one with the white fluffy hat, but in nct dream Mark the one rapping in the beginning with the tatts on his face,and in the other sub-unit WAYV it's Kun the leader but he is not here ) WayV (the Chinese sub-unit and like I said Kun one of the members is the leader ).
