More of an inspiration really. The reason it sounds like SHINee is because they're one of the groups who use the Retro/Disco concepts a lot. This is NCT's take on the whole Retro/Disco, i'm glad you dig it though. This Fits NCT Really well. I think this vibe fits SM Groups real well. From the Past it's been with TVXQ, SJ, SHINee, EXO and Now NCT are doing it.

I think the specific parts of the song that remind people of SHINee are the use of tight and complex multi-part harmonies (the first “yeah, superhuman”), rhythmic sound elements (like the synth/snap in the intro and rhythm guitar during the verses), as well as the chord progression in the pre-chorus.

To me, this is the signature SM entertainment sound that they have with their songs, and they finally gave NCT a try with this kind of concept, and it really works. If I were to actually pick a song that this reminds me of, it would be EXO’s lucky one, SHINee’s married to the music and a bit of good evening. Regardless, it still fits NCT and they owned this song.

Not only this song, but the rest of the mini album gives off a new vibe too!! Like you’ve said before, NCT’s music is so diverse and they’re always doing new genres, but the way they do it is SUPER specific and unique to them. Honestly I love the song, but I can't stop hearing Jjongs voice and that makes me happy yet sad (I'm still not over it and I don't think I'll ever be). "SM style" or anything, you can tell there's 5HINee vibes on it, specially the tones used and the distribution, like you could literally tell were Onew or Jjong would be singing. That doesn't mean "NCT stole their concept" no, everyone know we Shawols are a peaceful fandom and we're actually enjoying this song. NCT has their own colors and that made this song SO good (Yuta getting the screentime he deserves ❤️) Just out of curiosity, maybe in the future, I would love to know if this song was part of 5HINee's cancelled album back then... 💎❤️

Ok so when i first heard it when they performed it on GMA i thought it sounded like Shinee too, but after listening to the full studio version i can say that it sounds totally like NCT. Theres a mix of techno and disco music, but has hints of trap and hip hop too and it makes it so different and new and thats what NCT is all about. I cant imagine anyone doing this song and performance other than NCT.

If the mv was my first listening of the song I would’ve had the same reaction (I would probably say that the song was kinda hard to process) but just because I heard it before the mv came out at least 10 times the song grew on me and I already liked it when the mv came out. Also, it definitely has shinee vibes but you can still tell that this is nct. I know that they didn’t have this kind of production before but it suits completely the concept of neo culture technology. Their previous songs were amazing but none of their mvs (maybe except the 7th sense which is an nct u song) portrayed the "neo culture technology" concept.

It's like a mix of Shift and DxDxD by Shinee and a little bit of TVXQ. I wouldn't be surprised if this song was actually supposed to be for Shinee, because if you think about it, Artificial Love by EXO was supposed to be for NCT, and Lucky One was supposed to be for Shinee, so SM saw that the "Retro Future" formula was a success and now they are trying to apply in the newer groups like NCT and Red Vevet.
