Noisy music? I’d say more like party music lol I as an nct Stan and have been listening to them for 7 years, whenever I go out and drink with family and friends or on the weekends in general I play NCT, definitely party music, music that gets you going, energetic and fun. I love it

If/When you do a NCT Dream marathon, keep in mind the counterpart to 127's 'Touch' is Dream's 'Go' (Touch & Go, ha!)... as someone mentioned in the chat, during the NCT 2018 Empathy era they swapped concepts. We got bright and fluffy 127 & dark and rebellious Dream, it was a great and unexpected switch up. 😊

Because NCT-127 started out with a more Western pop/hip-hop style, they were often misunderstood and the mainstream public began labeling their music as just "noise." People were even starting to question if they were going to be SM's first failure. However, with "Simon Says" this was NCT's and SM's response to all those haters. It was their way of proving that there is more to the group than meets the eye (or ear in this case), etc. Plus, everything NCT/WayV does has to do with their dream concept, so what you are seeing in their "Simon Says" MV has to do with different aspects of showing how they have or will accomplish their dreams. The song is pretty much a callout to all those doubters and haters. They are telling them to watch out because all your negativity is actually fuel to my fire and will only make accomplishing my dreams and goals that much more possible, etc. i.e. Keep watching us because we will take over the world -- which is exactly what NCT was created and designed to do. "Simon Says" was their lead track on their Regular-Irregular album which came out in 2018. "Touch" also came out in 2018 as part of NCT's Empathy album, which has songs from all the sub-units on the album. This was the year that Mark "graduated" from NCT-Dream. This was also the year we said NCT-127 and NCT-Dream decided to trade concepts. NCT-127 came out with a cute concept with "Touch" and NCT-Dream was more hype and edgy with their song "Go," which was the complete opposite of the groups' previous concepts and styles. :D (And people thought NCT-127 was mostly just a hip-hop, high energy pop group. LOL, now they see that 127 can be soft and cute too. :D) In "Touch" and "Simon Says" there are 9 members in NCT-127 -- Taeyong,Taeil, Johnny, Yuta, Doyoung, Jaehyun, Winwin, Mark and Haechan.

Now that you have heard the Korean version of NCT-127's "Regular," and the English version, if you haven't already, you should also check out WayV's "Regular" Mandarin version. And once you have done that, you should then look up the lyrics to all 3. If you look up the English translation of the lyrics for the Korean and Mandarin versions and compare them to the English version you will see that even though it's the same beat and the same title, the lyrics are different for all 3 songs. (The Korean MV is slightly different from the English version because the lyrics are different, so the story they are telling is different.) For example, like everything NCT does, it all has to do with some aspect of a dream. In the English version what you see are all things that people would dream are possible when they have all the fame and fortune in the world. I think it's supposed to be like they are characters within a crazy dream world. In the English version the tiger is used as a big flex to show that they are so rich and famous that they can even command the respect of a tiger. However, in the Korean version the tiger is more of a symbol of courage and bravery, as a way to symbolize how they are working hard to be their best selves. Which is why the tiger is used differently in the Korean version vs. the English version. For "Regular" Jongwoo has officially debuted as a member of NCT-127, so now there are 10 members in NCT-127. Fun fact: WinWin is the only member who is in all 3 versions of "Regular" because he is a member of both NCT-127 and WayV. (I believe this is the last MV, so far, where we see WinWin as a member of NCT-127. It was released in 2018 and WayV debuted in the beginning of 2019.) If you look up the lyrics for the Korean version you will discover that the lyrics for the English version of "Regular" are almost opposite of what they are talking about in the Korean version. That's why the album is called Regular Irregular. The English version is what I would describe as the cocky version of the song and it hits on the aesthetic of what appeals more to an American audience. The English version talks about being famous and having lots of money and still not being satisfied until they possess all the riches and fame. "Regular" is supposed to be NCT-127's U.S. debut so that is why they made an English version. However, the Korean version is what I would call the humble version of the song. The Korean lyrics talk about how they are constantly working hard and are never satisfied with the end result and how they hope to have the success that they always dream of, etc. -- which is what appeals more to a Korean audience. The Chinese version of the song also has different lyrics. The MV for WayV's version of "Regular" is about dominating in the technology realm and that is why in WayV's MV you see them as stock traders in the stock market and at one point they are literally inside a computer, etc. It's all about dominating in the business world. "Regular" was technically WayV's debut song as well. You should really take the time to see what makes the 3 versions so different, besides the fact that they are in 3 different languages. :D It's really interesting to see how 3 songs can be created in 3 different languages using the same beat and feel, and yet have completely different messages. It just goes to show how diverse the music industry is and yet still so similar. :D Another reason why WayV's MV is so different from the Korean and English version is because they are the Chinese sub-unit and, at that time, they couldn't have anything that might connect them to NCT or make it look like they might be working with their Korean company if they wanted to promote in China. Because of the political issues between Korea and China, they had to appear as if they were a Chinese group and are separate from anything to do with SM in order for the Chinese government to allow them to appear on Chinese programs, etc. and to promote themselves and their album in the country. As you noticed, the English version dance practice was filmed at Millenium dance studios while NCT-127 was in L.A. on their North American promotional tour. Millennium is a pretty famous and well known dance company, and SM has partnered with them on projects several times over the years when their groups are in the U.S. SM has even filmed whole TV shows from Millennium's studio, such as Why Not the Dancer which was a dance choreography program filmed in L.A. with Taemin from SHINee, Eunhyuk from Super Junior, Jisung from NCT-Dream and GiKwang from Highlight, who are all their group's main dancers.

To add a word to the tiger's explanation, the Baekdusan(baekdu-mountain)tiger that lives in Korea is the largest of the tiger species and the strongest species that survived the cold in the north. In Korea, there were very many tigers in the past, but even now, when the tiger disappeared, the mountain at night is expressed as the tiger's mouth, and the tiger during the day is expressed as the owner of the mountain protecting the mountain. Like this, tigers are representative animals that show the ethnicity of Korea. This is because the tiger's spirit is very similar to the "we" culture of leading and protecting each other with strong ties, such as a sense of justice (Japanese colonial rule), passion for not giving up easily and doing their best. (The map of Korea is also said to be similar to the shape of a tiger) Anyway, since the song "Regular" was NCT's first English version of the song that entered the U.S. market at the time, it can be said that it expressed the spirit of a new Korean singer (127) by adding a tiger.
