NCT are so much fun. I think 127 and NCT U are the units you’ll enjoy the most. I recommend NCT U’s ‘7th sense!’ The whole giant group thing sounds crazy but honestly it’s just like a bunch of groups that sometimes get together and collab 😂 it’s fun!

This song was a very different genre for these guys. If you want really good rapping from nct 127 you should listen to Fact check, Kick it, Skyscraper but if you want a little bit of nct 127 R&B I recommend Gold dust, 127 Time stops. I also recommend The NCT 127 Killing voice where they sing a compilation of their songs live. Highly recommend the killing voice by nct127 but also the exo one !!!! there is a very old video of all (20+)them (NCT) in 2020 called resonance also recommend. I do have to mention that in the resonance music video 4 members left the group in between 2020-2024 and 6 others got added in 2024

NCT127 is my fav group with XG! As a hip-hop and rnb lover, I didn’t find any other boy group that does rnb songs and harmonizing together like NCT127. You can check Intro : wall to wall (vocals and rap, sadly it’s just an intro song), Skyscraper (rap and vocals), Gold Dust (rnb) and Parade (experimental). The last 3 songs don’t have any MV, so maybe you can check the NCT127 Killing Voices. Also, Jaehyun that you mention 9:32 is a rnb king as a soloist, so that’s why he was probably also mentioned in your comments. You should check his songs too : Smoke, and Dandelion & Roses (it’s actually 2 different songs but they made one mv for both). Support from Belgium!

NCT was created with the idea of having a sub-group for different places/vibes: 127 for SK, Dream at the beginning were for an younger audience but it was evolved along the years, WayV is the chinese sub-group, Wish is the newer sub-group which brings a youthfull, teen vibe to it, NCT U is every single member together where in each song a set of members are chosen to be in that song based on vibes and who fits the song better. NCT is under SM entertainment, who is known for having mad vocals, but they have a bit of everything. (sorry for the english is not my first language, love your work from Portugal

Some more 127: Fire Truck, Cherry Bomb, Regular, Simon Says, Kick It, and Ay-Yo. If you want to experiment a bit more, you guys can try Sticker. That song has everyone divided haha. I'm not confident Fire Truck would align with your tastes, but I think it's still worth a try because it's their debut. It's fun to see where groups started. I don't enjoy the other subunits as much but I do like NCT U's The 7th Sense and Boss which I'd also recommend to you guys.

FYI, Lucas was the random name. Mark is Canadian and Johnny is American. Jaehyun lived in the US for a few years, so all three speak English. Learning about each member is easier when they are in smaller sub-groups. I'm not sure if you all would be interested, but with k-pop specifically it would be SO worth it to react to the dance practices after watching the MV or hearing the track. Obviously I know yall are hear for the music, but the dance is also SUCH A BIG part of their overall performances and another factor that really sets these groups apart from most big pop/r&b/hip-hop stars... its not integral i guess but if you think about going to see concerts and live performances, its amazing how the dance really brings you into the music and the whole world they create :)

They’re a heavy RnB and Hip Hop group BUT the MAIN thing to note with them is that their title tracks are very experimental so it’s best to not go in with an expectation on what you’re gonna hear. Okay, small & understandable introduction to NCT: NCT has 25 members and is divided into units Fixed units that work as if they were normal kpop groups: - NCT 127: 8 members - NCT dream: 7 members (Mark and Haechan are in both 127 and dream!!!) - WayV: the chinese unit of nct, 6 members - NCT wish: the japanese unit, 6 members Special units: - NCT U: "U" stands for united, it means that any of the 25 members can be in this unit it just depends on who fits the song/concept the best! So we always have different number of members and different combinations between all 25 members. This unit is mostly only used for "full group" comebacks (I'll explain in this in just a second) - NCT Dojaejung: a trio unit composed of 3 members from nct 127 (Doyoung, Jaehyun and Jungwoo), they have so fare a mini album called "Perfume" We currently have 2 members in the military: Taeyong & Jaehyun (both from nct127) And in 2024 Taeil was kicked out of the group due to some disgusting things he did (FUCK TAEIL!!!) Full group comebacks: The whole of NCT have once a year or once every two years a full group comeback. This means that once a year all 25 members come together to do an album. This album consists of songs from all units AND NCT U songs. Fact check: Taeil is still under investigation and hasn't been proven guilty yet. Let's not forget about the innocent until proven guilty principle ⚖️ it has been almost five months since the investigation started and he hasn't been detained yet due to lack of evidence (which says a lot). His reputation has been heavily damaged by rumors and defamation, but law-enforcement agencies have not called him guilty yet. Taeil was one of the main vocals of NCT and his contribution to NCT legacy is immense. It would be nice to respect this. Taeil is known for his strong voice and signature high-note parts in the most popular NCT songs (Kick it, Simon says, Cherry bomb etc., the list can go on and on). In Walk, those good vocal parts that you liked are him (also Doyoung and Haechan - main vocals too). If you continue to dive into NCT's discography you'll hear Taeil a lot. He's really good. LOL. You can keep up if you only focus on the units individually, not NCT as a whole. I learned who is who by listening and watching the videos by unit. NCT is an acronym for Neo Culture Technology. The Neo of their name speaks to their music being the most experimental, future forward, different and diverse. They have members from Korea, Japan, China, Thailand, USA and Canada. The group is under SM Entertainment SK. Their fandom name is NCTzen (meaning all the fans are citizens of NCT). There are six sub-units that make up NCT. Currently there are 25 members total. NCT as a whole have three albums: Empathy, Resonance Part1-2, and Universe. NCT U (United) Debut - April 9th, 2016 - is the 1st sub-unit of NCT. NCT U does not have fixed members. I only recently got into nct because of walk, I think I’m into nct127 and some of nct u’s but at one point KZbin recommended Jaehyuns solo songs to me and I have to tell you: check it out! its just one group that is called NCT (think of it as a company ) this group is under a company called sm,and NCT has several units, u can think of it as different groups, so you can react to a specific unit (which you can consider it as a different group),and the idea of NCT is actually fun bc fans can Stan and listens to the unit they like more (since all of the units have totally different styles)

NCT essentially sticks to their own subunits, though. They only get together as a full group every couple of years to release a full group album. So it's pretty easy as a fan to just stick to one unit at a time.

i think about ur rapping point, most boy groups have rappers shine in bsides or rap unit songs but for title tracks raps are given to them (this isnt every group tho) for nct rappers maybe try- intro- wall to wall ape (taeyong solo) golden hour (mark solo)

i don't know..... i think you also have to factor in the companies or labels these groups are coming out of, which I'm no sure if anyone has commented about. Some of these groups are from companies that have historically pushed a particular sound and that, without all the required nuance, has been more vocal leaning or more rap and hip-hop leaning. BUT the industry standard has been, up until more recently, to always have rappers, vocalists and those who are even more known for their dancing prowess as part of these groups. So as an example, Blackpink is a group that debuted under YG Entertainment, which is a company pretty well known for incorporating a much more 90s/early 00s style of rap/hiphop into their group's sounds.... whereas NCT127 is under SM Entertainment, which historically has been known as a more vocal focused company. That explanation is SUPER reductive, its not that simple, there is SO much nuance... and that doesn't mean there can't be good rappers coming out of the companies that have stereotypically had more focus on training world class vocalists- all companies do everything especially in this generation of k-pop. Honestly I think Mark (who is in this track) is a really talented rapper, I just think the producers and the team behind XG, for example, is helping them write lyrics that are deeply ingrained and cognisant of the culture and the history of hip-hop a little bit more. But I don't think one can fault a group like NCT127 for that, though they do write their own lyrics and I'm sure have a lot more creative control at this point in their careers, they're from a much bigger company than XG is... I do think that'll influence the sound of their title tracks a bit more. Having said that, you should DEFINITELY check out their b-sides if you like r&b.

To be fair the concept is a bit overwhelming but it's best to treat each sub unit as their own group since they are usually keeping to their own groups as well as they each have their own sound Usually the fans have a preference on which group's sound they like best but we support all the groups under NCT umbrella You rarely see all of them together but they collaborate together sometimes as a whole or for a project under NCT U so it is kind of fun to see them interact together as a fan Never a boring day in NCity

NCT ARE NOT A NEW GROUP , but think of NCT as a company that has five sub groups below them. NCT debuted in 2016 with NCT U (everyone, also depends of the song)- Sixth Sense then NCT 127 (8 members), then NCT Dream (7 members) WayV (6 members) is their chinese unit and lastly we have newly debuted NCT WISH (6 members) whom debuted last year. in total there are 25 members.
