awaken is their japanese album, so there are japanese versions of korean title tracks, but if you want react only to new songs here they are: lips, blow my mind, end to start, kitchen beat and long slow distance, if i'm not mistaken my favourites are blow my mind and kitchen beat

I love Highway to Heaven, Paper Plane and Jet Lag too (Taeil KILLED that). And of course, Superhuman - the "perfect song". As far as I know, there's no special meaning to the outro. I think they just wanted to blow-o-o-o-o-o-ooooo - our minds. You'll get it when you hear "Blow My Mind" (again Taeil kills it).😊

Other people already said it, but yes Awaken is their Japanese album! "Wakey-Wakey" was the Japanese title track for that and the new songs are Lips, Blow My Mind, Long Slow Distance, Kitchen Beat and End to Start. Definitely recommend it. "Highway to Heaven" is one of my favorite English songs from NCT! And I guarantee if you played the Korean version to most international fans they'd look at you crazy because this is overwhelmingly the preferred version lol 3:07 Yes its California! They filmed while promoting in the USA for the North American leg of their 1st World Tour. They were in the Mojave Desert to be exact, off Highway 101. 5:30 I'd describe the genre as pop r&b lol "Fool" is a BOP I love this song so much. It's quirky and fun and just good all around. Another perfect summer song imo. 20:57 What is with you and hearing these random song comparisons lmao Do not agree with any of these, but uhhh I envy your musical brain, its interesting lol "Jet Lag" is great, but I rarely listen to it I fear. Now..."Paper Plane" I will shit on all day I HATE that song LMAO Between it and "Superhuman" this is definitely one of my least favorite and least revisited albums of theirs. "Paper Plane" suffers from that "0 Mile" curse for me, where they used it so often in their variety stuff I just...can't with it. The outro isn't a group lore thing and it doesn't carry over into the next album. There was no special reason for it really. NCT did Intros and Outros pretty often at the time and I think it was just a choice for this album.

Yea forsure! definitely gonna listen. My NCT different language song adventure continues lol im glad I remembered THIS at least😭 NCT boys putting on for the least exciting part of my state❤️❤️❤️ lol Fool is wonderful, strikes a great vibe. Also, the song comparisons LMFAO I truly do not know how or why they come to me. I just get jolted awake when I hear some sound and prepare to make the stupidest reference of all time😭😭 LOL I get the 0 Mile comparison but 0 Mile had that certain groove for it to latch on with me. But yea, Paper Plane is very much just a smile while listening once and probably not revisit for me lol. Ah forsure! Love the way it sounds

FOOL and Superhuman were the only 127 songs I knew for *years* bc they were along with other non-korean music what I held onto like a a funk and r&b goblin while 3/4s of Shinee were in the military. Bless it. They finally added a third funk/soul-ish song in 2023 but too late, my faves were back. On Superhuman's pristine production shout-out to Adrian McKinnon who was responsible for most of it. Man is right up there Dem Jointz and Kenzie in terms of SM-adjacent excellent body of work. I won't harp on his work with shinee bc at this point it sounds like I'm doing propaganda for them so will say Adrian is also responsible for two of EXO's most popular title tracks, for the girlies who like them in Tempo and Obsession. In every song he does you can kinda immediately hear the MJ influence.

Highway to Heaven was filmed somewhere on the way to Barstow, I believe. 😊 I grew up in the Cali high desert near there, so seeing the boys in that environment always tickles me. When I was first getting into kpop, Highway To Heaven was one of the songs that immediately grabbed my attention... I mean how often do you come across a reference to a random CA freeway in a kpop song?! 😂😂😂
