Great reaction. You’ll find that most Kpop groups have incredible dancing, strong vocals and rap. Their videos productions are some of the best out there according to industry professionals. KPOP is not only pop, they explore all genres, so you’ll find some groups that are very RnB focused, while others are more rap focused, some are heavier rock while others are buble gum pop, there’s chill hop, ballads etc, there are solo artist and rock bands. Theres KHip hop, K RnB, K Rock. NCT is a large group and they seem to do everything, they are especially known for being experimental with their music, especially the sub unit NCT127. I’m older and have been to only two kpop concerts with my daughter and her friends, and that wasn’t to take care of them cause they were young but it was because I’m a genuine fan and was the one that introduced the music to them. I went to an NCT127 concert and it was fantastic, so when the world becomes normal again, you should definitely try to make it to a concert. And Chicago gets good Kpop concerts in their city, so you are lucky, even if it’s five hours away. One of the members of NCT, Johnny, is from Chicago (he wasn’t in 90s Love).

there's plenty of concepts, genres, dancing styles, groups (big and small groups, co-ed groups, duets, sub-units, solo artists) in kpop so you can always find something to your liking, and there's so many groups that release a lot of music... usually groups do 2-3 comebacks per year (they promote a single, and have an ep or lp out, with a choreo, and concept -styling, makeup, props).

Subscribed and turned on notifications!!!! Perfect group choice as your first K-Pop listen!!! NCT is a super diverse group that covers a wide range of genres. Not only can they do rap and hip hop, but they can do r&b, ballads, and more! They have the visuals, vocals, choreo, and rapping all in one group. The K-Pop wave really took off in the 90's with this entertainment, SM Entertainment, paving the way. They have produced so many talented groups such as EXO, TVXQ, Red Velvet, SHINee, aespa, Super Junior, Girls Generation, BoA, and more. Many of their songs are written by producers not just in Korea, but all around the world, many coming from America and Europe. These producers like writting songs for K-Pop groups because it allows them to be more creative and go beyond mainstream American Pop as K-Pop is way more open minded and exploratory. A signature thing with K-Pop is their elaborate MVs. They spend a lot of money to create top notch MVs. Everything in NCT's MVs are customized from the set to their clothes with their names on it. They also always have difficult choreography with their songs. You will rarely see a performance without a dance with the exception of ballads. Another staple of K-Pop, especially SM Entertainment songs, is the bridge. SM likes to slow things down and give powerful vocals in their bridges to switch things up and keep the listener on their toes. It definitely makes the song more interesting! You're probably the first reactors that shared my feelings about this song , picking out BBD, Busta Rhymes, the Mighty Ducks, etc. I'm a musician and K-Pop has really shifted my ears in terms of how I hear music. It's like when you don't understand the lyrics, you're listening to every other nuance of the song instead. SM Entertainment (NCT's entertainment company) has a unique sound that's very multi-layered and "crisp" (with a lack for better words) they're also known for the best vocals, leaning R&B with a distinctive bridge. NCT is a great start and there are many dope K-Pop groups out there (but so far, NCT is my favorite mainly because of their diverse discography). Seeing that you're all about music production and not solely a reaction channel, perhaps you can pick out production aspects of the songs that you react to? If you check out the NCT Daily channel there are behind-the-scenes of the recording of NCT's tracks. As a performer, I find it very inspiring/helpful to see how artists go through the process of putting out good music. As far as reactions go, if you like 90's R&B, check out NCT U's "From Home" and WayV's "Love Talk" Other K-Pop groups to check out: Stray Kids, Ateez, TXT, EXO, BTS (the most well-known and largest fan base), Seventeen, GOT7, SuperM. They all have their own flavor so it's best not to compare the groups (K-Pop stans are very passionate so its best not to start fanwars). Good luck with your channel! I've subscribed!

The way kpop does music is....beyond anything we've ever seen even here in America. NCT are a bigger group(23 members but don't get discouraged by it bc they are split into sub units so u can learn one unit at a time it makes it so easy that's how I did it). First I just want to give some background on them:) NCT stand for Neo-culture technology which basically means they as a group want to keep expanding their members and make more sub units as time goes on so they can have units that promote in different places of the world. This is a very unique and new concept that was never done successfully or in this way in the past. NCT is with SM entertainment which is one of the big three entertainment companies in South Korea(JYP, SM, YG). For some reason when it is mentioned they ae from the big three people think they succeeded automatically which is definitely not the case. Since NCT's concept was so different a lot of people hated on them and said they would be the failure of SM. They debuted in 2016 and didn't meet the mark for a big 3 company at all for(idk exactly) around 2.5 to 3 years. This year was the first year where they gained a huge fanbase and started to succeed more which they truly deserve bc they worked so hard for it if you want to understand more the video that I watched that informed me of all of this was "NCT: SM biggest failure? nah." by Taeyong scalp. If you like this vibe - would recommend you FIRST react to NCT U From Home (old school R&B feels - sung in mix of four languages), WayV Love Talk and NCT127 Highway to Heaven (English versions) and maybe NCT Dream My First And Last (kinda MJ feels, it's Korean). Or if you want to react to NCT chronologically you can start with NCT U The 7th Sense (5 members) and NCT U Without U (only 3 members in KR ver) - their debut songs - both very different vibes to show NCT's theme of diversity. Each Unit has their own yt channel and a main NCT channel, also some songs released as special projects on SM Station like NCT Dream ft HRVY Don't Need Your Love (not old school, but very good feel. This song was written in part by Adrian McKinnon who is a black singer songwriter based in LA and most of the top hits from NCT are written by him and his co-rider Tay Jasper. Take Jasper is also a black singer songwriter and also one of my other favorites. These two gentlemen are geniuses when it comes to songwriting of all kinds but they were alive during the 90s and we’re into this type of music so that’s why this track sounds so authentic to actual 90s music.

NCT is from SM Entertainment debuted on 2016. They are split into 4 sub-units (NCT 127, NCT U, NCT DREAM & WAYV). Currently there are 23 members from various countries. NCT U is the first sub-unit of NCT, and doesn't have fixed members, so the lineup keeps changing for every comeback, depending on who fits the concept of the song. NCT 127 is the second sub-unit of NCT, they are based on Seoul thus, "127" representing the longitude coordinate of Seoul. They debuted with 7 members. They added 2 members from NCT U on Dec. 2016 and on 2018 they added their last 1 member. They now have 10 FIXED members. (7 are koreans, 1 member is american, 1 is canadian and 1 member is Japanese) NCT DREAM is the third unit that was created specifically for the teenaged members of NCT, it was initially formed to follow an aged-based admission-graduation system in which members would move on from the unit after reaching korean age of 20 (19 internationally), but in 2020 SM removed the graduation system and will continue future activities as a flexible-style group with the 7 original members. (4 members are korean and 2 chinese members, 1 is canadian) WAYV is the fourth sub-unit of NCT based on China produced by SM but managed by their China-exclusive, Label V. The group is not promoted as an NCT group until the announcement of NCT 2020, due to tense relations between China and South Korea. I saw an interview with a couple of you tube reactors I watch and the writers of this song and they were aiming for the New jack swing vibe of the 90s like Poison, they said they did a lot of research listening to old songs I can’t recall their names but they’ve worked on a lot of SM tracks... only had good things to say about working with SM and they said Mark is one of the nicest artists they’ve worked with too.
